SINGAPORE : A man is believed to have fallen to his death at a multi-storey carpark at Shaw Centre in Orchard Road on Tuesday evening.

 

He landed on a car, giving the driver and passenger a shock.

 

Police said they received a call at about 5.05 pm that a person was lying motionless at the foot of Shaw Centre.

 

The deceased is a Malay man in his early 20s.

 

He was pronounced dead at about 5.15 pm.

 

The driver said he heard a loud bang and saw something land on his windscreen.

 

He stopped the vehicle, got out and saw the body lying on the road.

 

Channel NewsAsia understands that a young woman, seen boarding the ambulance, was with the deceased when the incident happened.

But the news is very clear that it's not own damage! INS co may not entertain self damage reason hor! It's cause by a third party damage, if the INS cannot claim from dead man. Then car owner have to pay oout of pocket for the repair and then wait for the INS to successfully claim from the dead man before can reimburse the car owner?

A man fell to his death in broad daylight at the busy Shaw Centre near Claymore Hill Road on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Eyewitness said the man, believed to be a Malay man in his 30s, fell from the Shaw Centre carpark, at around 5pm.

Though its sad to see someone throw his life away just like that, but I totally agree with what you said, if he really has to die, he should do it at his own loss and not affecting others.

 

Poor owner and passenger of the Audi and Mercs has to go through the trouble of interviews, reporting making, insurance claims etc..and the worst part of it all, the possible trauma of witnessing the impact.....
