Hi bros,

Seems mazda6 2.0l locally is vfm compared to cx5 but not sure if mazda6 is the often 2.5l version and if cx5 also 2.5l which then is apple to apple for cx2.0 locally at 13k more.

Cheers.

Appreciate somebody could share what petrol to fill, 95 or 98? Tomorrow going to collect my car. Can ask for service voucher on site?

As per user manual 95 will do and I did just that. You meant Dezire member voucher? Yes it would be given as part of delivery, unless you are not promised that when signing :-)

For SUB 100k for a cat b car, the standard is very good value. Top up 8k for executive while price still good but imo not as value for money as the features increase not so justify the 8k extra. Keyless, head up display, led daytime running lights, bose system. That's about it.

Hi Alfc,

A lot more missed ...

BSM, Lane Departure/Anti collision/Rear Alerts and AEB which is 5k liao.

For me, it is certainly worth the 8k or still <110k since safety is priceless.

Cheers.

fyi...many parts of the Mazda are made in China.... assembled in Japan...

rims for example are MIC.... i heard brakes too. rims are cfm mic as i used them for 2yrs in my mazda 3.

my current toyota parts, for what i can see are made in japan... rims, even the Goodyear tyres..... and interior parts...

i think mazda strategy of cost cutting is pretty obvious, to me at least

Hi Astra,

Indeed 2nd hand used in more affordable but for wife, this $ cannot sting one.

2018 version (confusingly version GL in Australia and still GJ in Japan and USA) also see some nice improvement especially on NVH and supension setup which reportedly make it more refined but guess more subtle than any obvious breakthrough.

If it is 2.5T used, it would be different matter .. I will take it and pass fxt to wife ...keke !

Cheers.

Richard

Hi Astra,

A bit dangerous in having to play around with brake pressure right ?

I will try bonnet sensor mod if carousell seller' solution does not work.

Cheers.

Hi Bros,

We have this "centrepoint" setting for the 11 speakers Bose system ??

https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2383443

This is what I meant tuned via 11 speakers to help to get better staging since without processor.

This one sounds not bad at all but not sure why so varied while noting sound quality is subjective:

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Richard

Over the past month, I toggle btw Centrepoint and without it. The Centrepoint seem to gather the music centrally to the centre of the dashboard. Recently switch to non-Centrepoint. Finding it slightly more suitable for me.

Hi Slowloris,

Can share which focal system you purchased? Which audio shop?

Switch aircon cooler.

Hi it’s bascially a simple 2-way component speaker, focal access 165. I did it at a non specialised workshop. Can be found at most Audio workshop I think.

Hi Loris,

Thanks ... good to know !

Trouble with car audio is that it is a very difficult environment for good sound quality.

Dirac live is one cool tool that can be used with reasonably priced minidsp and I heard nice sound quality  ofbro whiterex's forester with only about 1k+ spent that cannot even buy one of my tchernov reference 1.0m rca interconnect ... lol !

Hi Loris,

Read that original Bose speakers are 2 ohm type and believe focal access 165 will make volume output a bit low as well as stress out stock amp.

While forester fxt has Kicker (not previous wrongly mentioned rockford) replacement speaker for the stock Harmon Kardon's, strange and bad news that there is none officially available for this 11 speakers bose system for our mazda6 :(

Understand not too great but this are the details for the bose 11 speakers system in mazda if selected:

The 11-speaker Bose surround sound system for the re-designed Mazda6 includes more advanced audio features than the previous generation while weighing 20% less.  Bose engineers accomplished this by using system components that are smaller, lighter and require less energy than comparable offerings.  This approach also supports Mazda’s SKYACTIV® Technology design philosophy for building a highly efficient vehicle without compromising performance.

At the heart of the sound system’s architecture is a new
energy-efficient amplifier from Bose, used for the first time in a production vehicle.  This new offering consumes less energy and runs cooler than conventional linear amplifiers.  It features proprietary control circuitry to enable continuous low-power operation, which results in less heat generation and eliminates the need for large metal cooling fins.  As a result, it’s more compact and weighs less than a conventional amplifier without any trade-off in audio performance.

Next-Generation Centerpoint® Surround Technology
Custom-engineered for the unique interior of the Mazda6, the sound system features the next generation of Bose Centerpoint digital signal processing, which enables listeners to enjoy a surround-sound experience from nearly any audio source, including CDs, MP3 players, and satellite, FM and digital radio.

Implemented for the first time in a Mazda vehicle, the improved Centerpoint 2 technology converts stereo output into multiple audio channels for highly precise audio reproduction.  Simultaneously, an enhanced algorithm creates spacious sound inside the cabin, allowing listeners to hear each note and instrument with remarkable precision.

AudioPilot® 2 Noise Compensation
Bose AudioPilot 2 technology compensates for the effects of unwanted sound from different road surfaces, changing driving speeds, even an open window.  A microphone placed in the cabin continuously monitors ambient noise conditions, while a sophisticated Bose algorithm analyzes the music signal and adjusts it to reduce the effect of unwanted noise.  AudioPilot 2 noise compensation technology operates automatically, enabling drivers to focus more on what’s coming down the road and less on the audio controls.

Customized Speaker Layout for the 2014 Mazda6
Innovative speaker design and placement complete the sound system in the new Mazda6.  A pair of 9-inch (23cm) Nd® woofers -- one in each front door -- delivers deep, low-frequency output from a package much slimmer than conventional speakers.  This makes it possible to position the woofers unobtrusively into tight but acoustically advantageous spaces, without sacrificing performance.

A 3.25-inch (8cm) mid-range Twiddler® in the middle of the instrument panel helps produce a clear and centered sound image, while two additional Twiddlers on either side provide tonal balance.  High notes are delivered by 1-inch (2.5cm) tweeters located in the instrument panel, and wide-range sound is produced by 5.25-inch (13.5cm) speakers placed in each rear door.  A pair of 2.5-inch (6cm) Twiddlers positioned on the rear deck completes the system layout.

More information about Bose® automotive sound systems can be found at www.Bose.com/auto.

About Bose Automotive Systems
In the early 1980s, Bose engineers created the world’s first factory-installed premium sound systems for General Motors luxury automobiles.
Unlike conventional or aftermarket automotive systems, these Bose® systems were specifically designed and tuned for the particular model in which they were installed, and helped transform the automobile from a hostile listening environment into a haven for music enjoyment.

Since then, Bose has developed proprietary speaker designs, advanced amplification and signal processing technologies, exclusive analysis and design tools, and technology for managing engine and powertrain sounds inside vehicles, all based on a heritage of research and engineering.  And in 2013, Bose celebrates an important milestone as the only audio company to deliver 30 years of continuous innovation for auto manufacturers worldwide.

Today, Bose automotive sound systems are recognized globally as the industry benchmark for performance and customer satisfaction.

Some discussion on speaker upgrade but less than satisfactory options like plug n play ones from kicker for subaru cars available:

Err walk away autolock is different from drive away autolock

Hi Don,

Indeed and walk away autolock is now confirmed for all.

One bro mentioned got drive away autolock but guess your query raises doubt on now ... standard dun have while executive have or both don't have as with mentioned newer cars to comply to Europe legislation as well as with transfer risk of not able to get out during accidents to be the responsibility of the car driver/owner to manually autolock if he/she wishes ?

Keyless lock/unlock confirm standard dun have while executive have.

Hope this clarifies further and would 2018 m6 bro helps further to advice ??

Thanks in advance and cheers,

Richard
