MAZDA 6

i am wondering if any of the bros out here have this issue with their 6. My is the Nov'08 HB version.

When driving on uneven road surface, I always hear "krik-krock krik-krock" sound coming from the front set of wheels. Do any of u guys experience this?

I went back to agent and they tell me its normal. I dun believe becos during that time, mazda was going thru the sales transition period to Transkar and the staff that was working are like soul-less svc consultants. Its like they are too lazy to check and identify the issues.

I sometimes also have this sound like some empty plastic container is knocking around in the front suspension area when I drive over uneven ground at low speeds. Doesn't always happen though.

Check your suspension bushings, lower arm, retight all bolts.

The Cd player on 6 is of pretty good quality (the radio isn't). If you play CDs, you can just upgrade your amp and speakers to bring out the sound. However that depend on what you are a looking for also as the stock HU cannot do tuning (time alignment, eq etc).

2 problems I can think of off hand. the connections between HU and amp will be difficult, and the stock HU does not have many adjustments for sound.. Looks great though..

whats the fuel economy you guys are getting on your mazda 6?

i met a m6 owner during a car wash and she said that hers gets her only 8km/l which is terrible!

Most tanks I get 11.6-11.7 km/l. The last tank I had 12.1 km/l. I think another bro here has very consistently good fc too.

Neutral Newbie

Ok I figured the problem w my sound was just the radio. When I played cd, it's perfect! Only radio mid range sounded flat?

Anywhere I can upgrade antenna to get better signal?

Also, how do I connect my iPhone to play songs through the sound system? Don't wanna burn cd n listen. Mine doesn't play mp3 I think, as there's no mp3 signs on the HU

ok noted, my mind is now pretty much set on changing my integra for a m6

Worth the wait to get a Mz6 2.3l. Mz6 2.0 is going to be worst than your integra in terms of responsiveness and drive.

5yr old car should be around 43-46K.....good value for a MIJ car

iPhone - get the Xcarlink device (quite a number of mz6 users using)

Sound - yes radio baaaaaddd...sound hollow. Simple upgrade is to add in a pair of nice tweeter to improve the sound without too much $$.

is she driving a super "mod" mz6? eg: 19" rims......

if not like what Vhtfhwlego she is the problem kekek

most mz6 gets a good 9 to 11km/l. I know 3 actually hitting 13-14km/l.....dunno how they achieve it.

If the reason is not for more space, then don't, I find the k20 engine much better and more fun to drive.

i think you've put too much faith in the 'legendary' k20

it is nothing amazing or special, infact the kia k5 has a 2L that has higher bhp

probably mated a k5's engine into an integra the car will outperform a stock integra

my integra is 05 technology, i'm pretty sure an engine from 2010 will surely be faster and yet more fuel efficient than one from 2005

wow some very big ranges here.

9 km/l is bad

10km/l is expected

11km/l is good

hopefully i'll be a new m6 owner within the next week!

The Mazda 2.0 uses the same engine as the previous generation one.

I have driven the previous and current gen Mazda 6 and a honda Accord cl7. Of the trio, i would still pick the Honda accord.

Higher bhp does not = more fun.

You are changing to the new Mz6 2.0 GH/2010? The engine is very not very "zoom zoom" per say. Have a test drive....I personally feel that the Mz6 2.0l cannot match the K20.

But if u refer to the Mz6 2.5r then :)

Just like the older SP series.. the 2.0l .. is disappointing.

But like wat davidtkl highlighted.....space and handling wise is a good reason for changing to Mz6.

I agree.... the Accord CL7 2.0 litre is a better choice.

Mz6 2.0 really zooomlessss.

Quite ok for a comfy day to day car la. Not the fastest for sure, but I don't need to be the first to reach the next set of traffic lights, every time. *self console* [laugh]

Sam, u changed to a mx5?

kekek........not yet.

Going to get 1 mx5 in feb + keep my mz6 2.3

Mx5 going to get a manual 2.0 to zoom zoom around. saw 1 went down and view the car but condition was dodgy. So waiting for the right one.
