Well, I intend to stick to the spec recommended for Mazda 6. However would prefer to buy my own EO and bring to my own workshop. Do not want to pay for chop-carrot price charged by TEK. I happen to still have couple of bottles of 5W-40 from my previous ride (Mazda 3).

Problem is there seem to be a change in Mazda spec between the previous (2017) model and my current 2019 FL model (both appear to use the same Skyactiv engine, according to TEK sales).

In user manual for 2017 model 5W-40 is within spec for outside Europe.

In user manual for 2019, 5W-40 is not specified.

Obviously the engines has been modified to meet Euro 6. Thick engine oil will increase emissions since the pistons gotta work harder to overcome the increased friction and fluid weight.

See, it shows 0W-20 APN SN, GF5. Just use this and you will be fine. These are the current specs and major oil manufacturers have oils that exceeds these standards

GF5 means the oil base was obtained from Natural gas. GF3 is still min oil based, not good for ultra high heat protection.

Did you get first or 2nd hand Mazda 6? You can answer your own question of whether it is alright to service outside since I own no Mazda car. Just make sure what you decide and act do not affect your warranty which Eurekas is an agent you are familiar with.

Neutral Newbie

Anyone tried cancelling aig insurance few days after collect car? Since they force us to go with aig for $500 discount.

I calculate even with penalty. Outside still cheaper. Might even make a profit. Lol

Save the trouble...just don't renew with AIG next Year....If you know outside is cheaper..you should not buy from them earlier.

I did that for my last car purchase. Paid $500, got from budget direct.com, I got a small saving still.

MZ6 2019 FL model... My car radio seems to have problem with 93.8 FM

1. Auto tune picks up most of our local FM channels except 93.8 FM

2. Can manually tune to 93.8 FM. However frequently get minor distortion in audio quality ONLY for this channel. Mostly in East (eg. Tampines).

Not sure if this problem is isolated to my car only. Can you folks help to check if you have the same issue? Thanks

Can help check if you encounter the same issue?

Australia’s second most popular new car brand will recall more than 35,000 versions of the Mazda 3, 6 and CX-5 over several issues that could cause engine failure in some circumstances.

All affected models were sold between 2012 and 2018 and are equipped with a diesel engine.

In short, the Mazda 6 is a driver's car, through and through. Everything else secondary :p.

are you sure ? Try driving even the civic or accord. Your answer would differ
