@Macrosszero to each his own. I find that during cold starts within 20s my engine rpm goes dwn to 800rpm (stabilizes). Fuel consumption is like 7.3l/100km. Acceleration has improved. I doubt my bhp has increased, its more of the power curve shifting fwd so u gt the max 160bhp faster.

@Contipro nope it din take in any water. But u mus use k&n or the filters by autoexe, cannot use those steel filters by hurricane. As the small pebbles will get thru the filter.

I am happy with my ride acceleration and handling after the upgrade. For a car with depreciation of <$800 per mth, i tink its well worth it. The 2.5L is so much more expensive than the 2.0L

Hopefully you bought your car used, because it’s possible to buy a 2.5 at the depreciation of a 2.0 nowadays. Aside from the motor it comes with better spec, and the other significant outlay is road tax and fuel economy.

@alex976

Nice. May I check with u the breakdown of the costs for the Front & Rear Struts + Auto EXE Air Guide system?

On the picture of the front of your car, I'm asking about the one at top of front grille since I have already done K&N Drop in Filter & the centre red intake tube?

Suggest you look at 2016 cars, the facelift versions with the tablet-style infotainment screens, those should be upgradeable for Carplay and Android auto. Not sure about the 2015 ones.

Thanks R32.

Looking at that too.  The 2015 and 2016 model the description in sg carmart not much difference except the HP differ by 4hp.

Hi Tazy,

Quite a bit of difference if you are referring to facelift and non facelift version.

Facelift is much better insulated and hence OBVIOUSLY quieter.

Headup display is also hidden anf nicely projected ... no longer the older one needing reflective screen pasted unsightly on the windscreen.

Think non facelift also has no Android Auto upgradeability ...

Go for facelift ones pls.

Cheers.

Richard

How do u all find the fuel consumption?

Fuel economy has never been one of Mazda's plus points.

@Davidklt A lot of people have the same thoughts as well but with the new Skyactiv engines, I find the FC quite reasonable and I'm happy with it for the car of its size.

I'm averaging between 7.8 to 9l per 100km (12.8km/l to 11.1km/l).

My previously car, Kia Cerato forte's avg FC for a 1.6l is around 8.8 to 10l per 100km. That is really heavier in FC.

Depends on your Right Foot & the Type of Route you Travel.

2.5 is a pretty thirsty buffalo clocking 10-12litres/100km if you made a lot of short trips. That works out to 8-9km per litres. You are able to see 12-13km/litres if you do a lot of highway miles though

@Hiton FL Mazda 6 would be 2.0 I reckon? 13.5 for ave is quite possible, depends on how much highway the owner does like what some have mentioned.

I’m on the slightly heavier and less aerodynamic CX5, and I managed to clock 18km per litre on a trip that was 90% highway from the northwest to the East (exiting Jln Eunos that trip).

Although my ave is far lesser at around 11.8 or so as my typical routes are largely 50/50 city start stop and highway.

I won’t say fuel consumption is brilliant but definitely not as bad as what is typically bandied around.
