I think EOL soon since the new 6 is coming.

There is no new 6, just another face-lift...

From sgcarmart:

They basically just changed their pricing game... They used to advertise a high price, and discount this and that..... This round, they decided to advertise a closer to nett price. While price is indeed lower this round, the price gap looks wider than it actually was...

Yes, I noticed this as well. The pricelist alone is not a good indicator of the actual selling price. The Sat advertised price is always much lower but it is of lower trim and probably less room for negotiation and overtrade. I also noticed they often increase the price just before the COE bidding and then lower again after the bidding if the COE is down so actually the same price although COE is now lower.

Any overtrade for yr old ride?

I traded in my Mar 2009 Civic at quite a good price.

I think so too. But at this price, not many choices for Jap car. Just need a car for daily transport and worry free for the next 10 years.

When i was viewing the Mz6, the sales person give me the attitude that whatever stated in the pricelist is nett, take it or leave it !

That's somehow relate to demand n supply of Mazda cars. When they are so firm with their price, can only mean they have hit their sale target for that period. On the other hand, they can be approachable in their pricing when they need to meet their sale figures.

Agree on your last. Camry 2.0 costs $25,000 more but it lacks many of the features that the Mz6 has.

Btw, what are the add ons given to you by the dealer? Mine came with what is probably the standard stuff, Blaupunkt Car Cam Front and Back & 5 years servicing and nothing more.

Sorry... made in China but assembled in Japan...

Other than the engine and gearbox which I presume are made in japan, which parts of the Mazda 6 are made in China?

Err.... Maybe you should check out other sales staff...

My SE had been following UP with me for 6 months plus.... always the same game, till the coming round of COE bidding

And back in 2015 & 2016 when I was accompanying friends to view the Mazda 6,TEK was already playing the same pricing game (like some luxury marque, list price high to maintain image but can discount quite a fair bit)

If less than a year and insurance from AIG, they will replace a brand new m6 if declare total damage.

I wonder if they really replace a brand new m6, what about existing loan? Continue?

Do share with us the outcomes from insurance

Guys, just wanna share the outcome......AIG has compensated me but initial amount was a few thousand short from a new Mazda 6 price. So I wrote in to kaopei and they finally relented by adjusting the amount upwards to match the price.

I have made a booking and should be able to collect the car before cny......some closure at last.

I also have the same thinking but when I booked the new car, the insurance premium only increased by 30%. It is from AIG as well and the premium did not shoot thru the roof as I initially feared due to the loading imposed......so they are still not too bad after all.

If new facelift arrived, you could have the new one.

Anyway, good to hear AIG really compensated.

I always feel that these are marketing strategies.

What about your existing loan?

Can you share with us the figures?

How much you bought the 1st car?

Outstanding loan?

How much AIG compensated?

How much is the new car?

Balance loan?

The facelifted model will take a while since it is not yet on sale in US or Japan.

Bought the 1st car at around 126k and took 20% loan, so I fully settled the existing loan prior to final settlement with AIG since the amount is not that huge.

Well, you also have a choice of getting AIG to pay for you but they will deduct the amount from the compensation figure.
