Taxi co will be laughing to the bank if the gov really allocate some COE quota for them monthly!

The few taxi co will Pa-kat, to make it $1.

Its a few player only, so easier to pa-kat.

Further more...its not like each month the taxi co die die must replace their fleet.

you think they petrol gang of 4 ah?

taxi coy will bid as high as they wish, then pass the cost to the consumer, very easy, up taxi fare.

It will drop.

Japanese AD might have lesser stocks of car to sell.

Less stocks means lesser COE to bid for customers.

Just need Toyota to suffer slow down and delay on the car shipment by three months to Sinagpore, then COE might crash to $1.

kong kum [hur]

To be honest $1 coe will only arrive when GAHMEN need to refresh their fleet of cars...Just analyze, Police force changed most of their 2000 corolla to 2009 Altise and Hilux, Comfort change their Crown fleet to 2009 Sonata fleet, coincidence?

yes, its coincidence... COE price is never in their consideration when changing their fleet of vehicle... just imagine, if you can anyhow print COE, is COE price your consideration when buying a car?

How come there is no end to the taxi replacement? Thought one taxi can last for 10 yrs?

Nope, replacement of taxi depends on company but more along the lines of 4 to 6 years. A taxi runs many more hours a day and wears out alot faster.

Taxi COE "lifespan" is 8 yrs, was 7 yrs till a few years back!

its 7

not 8

btw, how does the COE look like?

or is there actually no physical cert at all?

A vs B vs C

all fighting for a limited supply.

if C wants all, A and B sure go all out to get it. there might even be a SIX digit COE if that happens.

Something to do with elastic and inelastic.

Car manufacturing can up and down.

Car AD orders car can be up and down.

AD stocks on hand can be up and down.

One thing for sure is COE quota is fixed, no up no down.

If the major AD cannot get enough car for this two months.

Then the stocks on hand will be down.

Then AD will not sign too many sales agreement contracts, if future stocks are uncertain.

How can this major AD keeps bidding COE for non-existant customers if there is not enough car to sell? Correct or not?

The Japan earthquake affected this particular AD supply of cars and car parts.

I think today COE price will drop significantly for Cat.A.

Yep, especially since main HQ stop production already.. hopefully Cat A will drop in the next few weeks. then it will be a good time to buy before the production continue :D

Highly doubt so. Ppl who want to buy car can still buy mazda, honda, kia, hyundai, VE, citreon, etc. And also as ppl pointed out altis is not MIJ.
