oomph Neutral Newbie March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 getting paranoid about less than smooth gear changes on my six year old honda. drove down to Khang's auto transmission at Sin Ming but it was closed... now a bus park ... and a car wash. Did the $6 snow wash, and was told by the folks there that Khang's closed end of 2011. Anyone know if they closed or shifted? One affected customer is a 34-year-old housewife who wanted to be known only as Madam Tan. She told The Straits Times on Friday that she sent her Peugeot for servicing on Dec 14 and had not been able to collect it since then. She was to have collected it a week later. The company, Kar Engineering, was registered in 2002 and moved to the premises in Sin Ming Drive in 2009, according to a company search made through the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority Singapore. The landlord could not be contacted for comment last night. When The Straits Times visited the workshop last night, the doors were locked. From a bird's eye view, there appeared to be more than 20 vehicles in the workshop. The tenant of a car-washing shop opposite said Kar Engineering had been closed most days for about a month, but that it opened occasionally. He said notices were put up outside the shop a week ago to inform customers that the company was 'resolving its problems', and that they would be informed of its position by Jan 5. The cars serviced there are usually high-end ones, such as Audis, Mercedes-Benzs and even Ferraris, the neighbour said. Meanwhile, customers who need to service their cars have been directed through a notice pasted outside the shop to a nearby workshop, Mega Auto Place. Car mechanic Emelio Cereno, 36, who works in a car workshop two units away from Mega Auto Place in Sin Ming Industrial Estate, said that shop has been seeing more customers since about three weeks ago. About 50 customers have been visiting Kar Engineering every day since it closed. They have been turning up in the mornings, sometimes in groups, to check on the status of the shop, said a car washer working with the tenant opposite. Some of them return several times a day, said the man who would give his name only as Matt. The company's directors are listed as Khang Lai Cheng and Yong Phui Pheng.
