Anyone here can tell me what exactly is the business model for bloggers?? How exactly can they survive? Just by blogging?? How does the model works?

You get hits, then people advertise on your blog.

 

For example, online blogshop, they ask you to advertise their products/apparels on your blog etc.

 

Even restaurants, they get you to sample their food and in return you do a review for them on your blog. The list goes on. So good to be famous! Hahahaha.

Professional bloggers differentiate themselves in certain ways so as to get a good hit rate.

 

It's just business to them. And like any business, you need to differentiate yourself from your competitors.

 

So whatever you read from their blogs, please take it with a pinch of salt. It was written in a way to get hits. It may not be the real personality of the blogger behind.

 

Good blogs can earn thousands to 5 figures every month. Internet marketing is a big business.

 

But it is not easy to just rant and draw traffic. Some skill in journalism and characteristic is needed. It's a job, and like any job, you need skill and talent.

actually it can be very good for some that does it well and it can just be token for the others not so successful ones.

 

some blogs have a theme and so they are attracting advertisers that have specific product to market. eg food blog.

 

for xiaxue blog, i actually not sure what type of market she is targeting or hers is just a general blog.

 

general blog can't really surivive on writing quality articles on blogs. they survive by being controversial so that they get more hits and their blog sites get ranked higher. so i am not surprised that her blog feeds on controversy and that's what she is trying to do now to feed her blog.

A STOMPer came across a notice pasted in a public toilet at Choa Chu Kang that showed a local blogger, in what seemed to be her 'before and after Photoshop' photos.

 

Said the STOMPer:

 

"Blogger gets insults hurledat her in public toilet.

 

"Just yesterday (Tuesday, 20 November), I was at the Choa Chu Kang cinema catching a movie and when I went to the toilet around 3pm, I entered this cubicle and was very shocked by what I saw.

 

"There were these pictures of this particular SG blogger pasted there.

 

"Apparently, they are 'before Photoshop' and 'after Photoshop' pictures of her and the notice claims that she is misleading her product consumers by endorsing things with her fake Photoshop pictures.

 

"I was really shocked, because I didn't know she Photoshopped her pics and thought that she was as pretty in real life. On the other hand, I pity her, as even though she Photoshops her photos, they shouldn't have done this to her!

 

"Moreover, it seems that some mean people have scrawled vulgarities and insults on the pictures, treating it as a bulletin board to say nasty things about her. I really pity her, and hope she gets wind of this and stops it.
