Little_prince Supersonic December 10, 2012 Share December 10, 2012 Hi All, I am thinking of getting a pre-owned Rolex sub with date (maybe a M or V series). I currently have an Omega Seamaster (2551) which was with me for ten over yrs. When I look at the Sub and my Seamaster, they look quite identical in design. Is it a good idea to purchase another watch (in this case, Sub) which is similar in design and look? Please advise. It is greatly appreciate. Thanks. get a colour sub? maybe the green one or blue one would be nice since you already have a seamaster ↡ Advertisement

Throttle2 Supersonic December 10, 2012 Share December 10, 2012 If you thought that was overpriced, check this out, although it could be because of the "meteorite" dial (that is, if you believe the literature about the origins of the meteorite dial) and white gold is usually slightly more expensive than yellow gold: http://www.passions.com.sg/v2/watch/rolex-...th-meteorite-di This one here selling for low price but no papers... http://www.passions.com.sg/v2/watch/rolex-...h-daytona-18kyg It is not only becos of the meteorite dial which a true daytona buyer doesnt care for anyway. It is becos Passions always mark up damn high. For both watches can easily get $1k to $2k off what they quote. The white gold 116519 is a current model but should not be more than $22k The Yellow gold 16518 is an old model which should not be more than $16k If you like I can help you get a 100% brand new in box, overseas set, unnamed 116518 yellow gold on paul newman dial for just $24.3k If serious let me know, I do need some time to source. cheers

Viceroymenthol 6th Gear December 10, 2012 Share December 10, 2012 Having second thoughts about yellow gold. White gold is less conspicuous. Yellow gold is too... in your face... Like crying out for attention.... I may never wear it after buying it... Maybe I need to put some more years on my face to carry it off...

Omega is a copy cat of original Rolex design so it's not the same. Get the Rolex and sell off your omega.

Why choose the old sub when the new sub is already out in the market for 2 year and it's better and more manly chio looking. After i try the 116610LN in the showroom immediate fall in love to it. I sold my old sub and go for the new sub recently.... Edited December 11, 2012 by Jerryl

Hahah, I agree it does take a bit of age to wear a yellow Gold watch. and a solid gold sports Rolex is a very manly macho watch. The Daytona on strap is a good balance in terms of strength and elegance Edited December 11, 2012 by Throttle2
