Article on Biz Time today highlighted its Debt to Equity ratio at 219% (from only 57% last year), the highest in the list.....

Not good when interest rates are rising.

sometimes its really weird

people would buy a company with loads of cash from fundraising but an unproven untested stratgy with no operation prowess burning money every single day and posting losses every quarter

yet they would not, a defence tech engineering company which is essentially supported by the State owned by the State with profits year in year out during a time where defence budgets of the world is on the rise.

StEng makes and sells an assortment of weapons and armored vehicles to NATO countries.   Its order book is never short and certainly not in todays situation. A significant portion of our annual budget on military spending goes to STeng. And that budget is increasing for sure.

besides supplying military equipment weapons , it also produces tanks and surveillance systems, etc etc for the SAF.

This isnt a Hyflux which uses debt simply by turning on the tap amd paying out dividends even with losses.

STeng is a f**king AAA credit rated company 🤣😄😂 , how many companies even come close?

well i could be totally wrong in my views despite the above facts so please understand that this is not advice. Caveat emptor

For me,  STI just broke another upward channel towards the downside so I will see how that play out first.

From a technical analysis perspective over the charts, I am not optimistic about the banks either in the coming weeks.

Hope I am wrong though.
