just got a scam call 83627980

again, they have my full name and IC, claiming himself as IO from some government department, investigating money laundering

he is more gan cheong (nervous) than me

several times, I have to ask him to repeat what he said and ask him to speak slowly

half way he gave up and hang up the call

scammer ah scammer, you guys got to brush up the training department

i don't want them to get better...... I want them to get caught.

That being said, it is not hard to get your full name and I/C because before PDPA and masked I/C numbers kicked in we have been liberally sharing our I/C and full names for decades, writing it in lucky draw forms, insurance quotations, etc.

If you have been throwing out old documents and mail, it is readily available for harvesting if you haven't been conscientiously shredding your paperwork......

Nowadays I have stopped picking up phone calls when I see the number is unfamiliar.

If there is anything urgent, they could message me and it is completely up to me to see if I want to reply.

到了一定的岁数, 人生应该开始做减法了。

There is nothing in this world that is so urgent and important.

I believe they will build, update my profile and share with other scammers

now they know

- my phone number

- my full name

- my IC

- my age (from IC number)

- some of my medical history

- I don't have account with HSBC

He is forced into it.

Asked him to give some signals.  If he is in.dangerous situation, blink twice.  If he needs help, double blink 3 times.

Yah I actually answered one such call about a month ago.

The "IO" from "CAD" knew my name and NRIC number. Then transfer call to Interpol.... Blah blah .... The  Interpol guy sounded less convincing.... Told me to go Interpol within an hour.... Etc

I ask for name and id number... Direct phone number.... Then he kept telling me to go Interpol within an hour ...and hanged up the phone.

So I called up CAD to ask if they have an IO by the name... And explain they are now using CAD and Interpol to try get do phishing...

No way they are getting better, I received a scam call on Sunday, it was the third time, over last 2 months plus, using exactly the same stupid script.

Long story short, I just played along until the guy gave me a whatsapp business number, to do "further processing" (possibly sending malware along the way)

I just send them "烧给你的收到了吗”, “剩七天了快回去”. They just &(^*%$$@%^&. then end. :D

they always use fear or greed tactics

I don't even buy 4D and Toto, so greed doesn't work on me

I told my kids to keep an eye on me and my wife when we are older, just like how we watch their back when they were young, our mind may not be sharp and clear then

Received a call from 9459 xxxx, a lady with heavy south asia slant claiming to be from OCBC.

Asked me whether I have made or authorized a transaction of $32,000 in USA, I denied.

I asked her about the transaction, on which account etc, she want me provide my personal details to block the transactions and it was on my personal account.

I asked for her name, location of her office, why is she using a mobile number, proof that she is from OCBC, etc, she gave me a name that I couldn't make out, Chulia street, mobile number is some system generated shit blah blah, as for proof of OCBC she could only say all calls are recorded blah blah blah.

I told her I would not give her any of my details until she prove her OCBC identity, She promptly hanged up.

And I have no account with OCBC.

Limpeh free then entertain you, CCB dare to hang up on me? :D

I take part in a lot of lucky draws, so far volume also dropped a lot recently. Likely due to the scam shield app.
