Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 Not necessary. More capacity = more uniformed groups needed to fill it up to appear as full house + colour coordination. why uniform groups ...... can get schools students to fill them up easily... ↡ Advertisement
Adrianli Hypersonic September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 Lol, no need unformed group to fill up la, you really think no people want to go meh?! Every year so many people dying to go to NDP. If capacity bigger then can allow more people to go. Now limited seats so many ppl wana go. If its too many seats, the demand will tumble in next 5yrs. Then SAF got to find ppl to fill in the spaces. Its like that one.

Davidklt Supercharged October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 (edited) It has been explained many times before in the press before in the tender process. Why are people asking the same questions again? Why people asking this after the construction have kicked off. How many events here actually do take up 55,000 seats? None. In fact, only once a year and it is not for a sporting event, it is for the National Day Parade. The Sports Hub is not build for NDP but for sporting events in mind. Even Jalan Besar here are not filled for football matches. Edited October 10, 2012 by Davidtkl

Darryn Turbocharged October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 AMI stadium in Christchurch has a capacity of 43,000 - and it is fairly regularly sold out from a Christchurch population of around 400,000. Eden Park Stadium in Auckland can seat 50,000 - it is also regularly sold out from an Auckland Population of (from memory) somewhere between 2 and 3 million. Singaporeans don't give a shite about sport. They will not every regularly fill a 55,000 seat stadium for any reason other than a concert of if Man U or Chelsea come and play here. I guess u never knew about the malaysia cup days before 1994... the atmosphere u get back then was simply electrifying... but u r right... right now, the support is no longer there... But if Singapore qualifies for the Malaysia cup final... i would expect at least 20k to make their way to Shah Alam...

Even at the home games the poncy little Jalan Besar stadium is only about 25% filled. Not scolding you, but Singapore has it backwards for sport - It should be "I support you then you will build success" instead they are "Once you are successful, then I support you" Actually - I guess that is a pretty good metaphor for the culture of Singapore ↡ Advertisement
