I don’t drive Cayenne.

I am surprise diesel has more problem than petrol. Maybe ask him to clarify.

If not, can someone recommend porky specialist? Check with specialist.

Diesel engine is workhorse used by a lot of pickup truck.

My only pet peeve is MIW might screw Diesel engine private car.

I ve driven someone's cayenne before.  On the NSH. Its a base cayenne.  I would say unless u are a badge whore n die die must get one with a tight budget, look elsewhere.  Nothing is more fustrating than driving a slower Porsche.  We were in a convoy by the way. It cant keep up with the rest of the cars.  Even my friend regrets n wanted to offload it but his CO compraine because they stand to lose a lot as 1st owner depreciation.  For such a heavy car weighing like 2.3 tonnes, get an older Turbo or Turbo-S  and get one fully spec-ed with all the performance n handling options.  Else, a Q5/Q7 makes better sense.

Older Cayennes were not Porsche to be precise. Drive the new one and you will feel the difference. Again no PDK though.

Wow, that must have been a pretty fast convoy!

I see the cayenne as a premium suv with a bit of oomph. Viewed as such, i enjoy driving the base cayenne (air suspension with pasm).

Of course i do not expect the cayenne to drive like the 911 turbo. Same badge but totally different driving needs/experience. I find both enjoyable in a very different sense.

As to whether the base cayenne is worth the $$$, I leave it to you guys to decide.
