Help needed on problem experienced on lexus IS250

lol no la already have 2 cars and thinking of selling the audi one, too expensive already owning more than 1 car

Is it that bad?

you can bring to a check first to lexus and replace the part outside cos lexus part really ex (i changed the aircon filter cost me 600+)

selling the car is the alternative option if you dont want to fix the problem as crank sound should be quite serious i reckon

Engine oil draining off too fast resulting low oil volume in the oil gallery. The cause can be due to use of non OEM / original filter or the oil return check valve is faulty. The other possible is engine oil used , the vicosity is too thin.Once the oil pressure is up, the noise will go away.

Make sure yr mech is using a high quality cup oil filter designed for paper oil cartidge.It's very difficult ot remove the cartridge and the chance of damage is very high if you use a simple universal belt opener ( widely used by DIYers)

 

Meaning there is nt enuff oil during startup and thus the sound? Costly to change the valve?

Start your car engine with air con switch off.

It could be the air con compressor clutch noise.

To solve this problem is change compressor.

My car air con last time got this problem but I don,t

care because the compressor is working well only some noise

when engine idle.

I tink its the same sound. Whats the cause? No comments in the clip.

 

 

do a few oil changes short interval with semi syn, previous owner do poor maintenance and sludge build up in the vvt actuator/chain timing inside at the camshaft or something

 

my friend had this problem before also

there is a recall on this engine valve spring too , check with borneo

yes if change brake pad for my next servicing will cost 1k plus

lol thats why! they say my a/c filter should be changed at 40k km service but end up until 50k km service havent replaced. maybe the type is a perfection a/c filter

I dont recall the filter being that expensive. Whole service package with engine and gb oil changed plus filter and everything is only $485 at Borneo.

this is absolutely correct. thats why when u buy new car, bargain hard with SE to have free servicing for 3 years, if cant then 2 years. just like how i bought my A8, free 1 year servicing (others dont have)

I will try but can share why this method? What is it trying to test?

My apologies - I misunderstood the symptoms. After listening to the video, it seems like a clattering sound upon start up. I'd say this kind of clattering sound is perfectly acceptable for an old Jap car, but not for a Lexus that's not yet 10 years old.

I thought it was difficult to start and you had to crank for a long time - that would be the fuel accumulator had a torn diaphragm and the petrol flowed back away from the engine. By turning the ignition on and off, the fuel pump will pump petrol to the engine and you could start the engine almost instantly.

Anyway, it doesn't sound like you have this problem at all.

It may be just the engine running rough but again if it goes away after a few seconds, it's very difficult to pin it down to a mechanical fault. Perhaps a sensor that cuts out after engine start?

Yup. The IS250 quite problem free. Just regular maintenance only.

Ours abt 5 yrs no problems at all.
