Smart LED TV

Good feedback from everyone. I eventually settled for a Samsung 46" Smart LED TV, purchased at the Expo over the weekend.

I only realised that the Samsung section was actually a front for Audio House, after they printed out my receipt upon payment. I had a premonition there'll be some trickery and true enough, a patronising customer service personnel called this morning to inform me that the delivery will be delayed by a week. No apologies, no contrition, no empathy and seriously lacking in professionalism. The delay was bad, but the handling of the delay was far worse.

Choosing a TV is probably less tricky than choosing where to buy it from.

im using samsung 7 series LED smart tv 55 inch..aim for very long & when price dropped to ard 4k..i grabbed it 1 year+ ago...

it broke down 3x... was guinea pig then, samsung came, change tv, still spoil, then change motherboard etc then can..

the repair guy told me common..knn..lucky got 3 years warranty..after they came down the last time about 8 months ago..now all ok.

When I first got my LG 3D LED TV, it also malfunctioned (sudden power downs, extreme lag in controls) initially. The techs came down a few times, and finally replaced the whole set. Still the same issues.

I finally solved it with a firmware update. Till today, the TV has been rock stable. A lot of these problems are firmware (software) related.

When you've found the electrical item you want and have found a 'good' price for it then it's always worth checking with that shop in Hougang, 'Goh ah Bee'. Just phone to check price.

I've always found him to have very good prices and the service is excellent.

Goh Ah Bee @ Hougang

Parisilk @ HV, Bedok, Transit Road

Everjoint @ AMK

Few of these other shops around as well.

I personally buy the most stuff from parisilk.

Never went to all these electrical fairs before. Most of the time, just buy from these shops can match their price liao. Unless u grab those really good offers.

thanks for the heads up, further affirmation that software development isn't the Koreans's strong suit.

You ain't no where near me when talking about size.

So have you returned the P car to the owner? :D:D

Have you returned the P(enis) from your mouth to its rightful owner's fly? :D :D :D

Turbocharged

how far do you sit? It is not always that bigger is better. Screen size should go hand in hand with viewing distance.

I sit 1m away from the screen :D:D

My Hitachi plasma conked out after 5 yrs of service, so now I'm on the look out for a Smart TV but I realised that the TV technology has progressed so much I'm not even sure what I should be looking out for for my next purchase.

I have these general criteria:

1) At least 40"

2) Smart TV with full internet access

3) Full HD

4) Full 3D

5) Non-China brand

6) At least 3 yrs warranty

I was looking at the Panasonic Viera at Best Denki the other day but didn't commit because I hadn't researched properly nor do I think that they are offering the best price. Any recommendations?

I have been using PS3 to act as blueray and dvd player of course to play game too for years liao. PS3 have many apps include youtube and browser to surf internet....... my 3 years old plasma TV indirectly can "act as a smart TV too" just an alternative option

recently purchase this PS3_Wireless_Keypad.png
