Nicholas 5th Gear January 2, 2013 Share January 2, 2013 I recommend Joyous vet at sunshine place. http://www.tjv.com.sg/our_vets.html Usually you have to take the hamster to the vet for consultation first. Though I can't remember the price (call and ask), I thought it was reasonable and the vets are really animal lovers. Usually there's a long queue so you must book an appt. Both my hamster had tumours. One had cancer spread inside, we didn't know until it suddenly couldn't move properly. The other one had a tumour near its mouth. Doctor says can remove but it may grow back esp when the area is prone to infection and hamsters like to scratch there. We (gf n I) decided to end it's life before it starts to suffer, seeing how the other hamster suffered. It was already nearly 3 years old. Paying to end it's life is not cheap since some ppl can choose to just throw it away. But we decided that since we want to take care of it, we need to be responsible for its end of life. After that decided not to keep pets anymore esp. hamsters where sellers let them anyhow breed causing all these tumours. I read that some people bring their rabbits for some minor injuries at a ataz animal hospital, then the rabbit die from injection.

Babyt 4th Gear January 2, 2013 Share January 2, 2013 yeah. my hamster died after about 2.5yrs. it had a black spot on the side of the body probably cancer. it became very weak suddenly and kept sleeping. died within a few days after that. i cried cos was my first hamster. the truth hurts but hamsters are small pet that dont justify having operation to prolong life. They can cup the whole hamster and release the gas I think. That's how they put both my hamsters to sleep.
Sosaria Twincharged January 2, 2013 Share January 2, 2013 Why not buy a new hamster? It is much cheaper than to see a vet I also think so, since it's a small animal with short lifespan... I might consider for some pet which is longer living and more "interactive" as part of the family, e.g. like a dog. But then, though it may be expensive and does not seem logical, TS is just being a responsible pet owner, so this is a good thing. ↡ Advertisement
