Used Car Dealers Feedback (Part 2)!

For the bold up question, it doesn't matter if we do or don't do (personally I do) end of day, do you trust?

1. Did service and got reciept from Workshop : Buyer will say its fake

2. Did service and got service sticker : Buyer will say can get that sticker anytime

3. Battery no spoil why must change?

4. Tyre life still serviceable why change?

Do not compare buying brand new car and used car. Agent get the warranty from Japan/Germany principle, they dont give u warranty. The margin they sell are obscene and there is a list for it on LTA. https://www.onemotoring.com.sg/content/dam/onemotoring/Buying/Car_Cost_Update/Car_Cost_Update.pdf

Unless used car agent can get those kind of margin.

Used car dealer has to suck it up and answer to themselves, some breakdowns really no symptoms at all how to be aware?

Anyhow, when i say this i expect to shot down, But quite used to it though. Hence i do export and scrap, lesser headaches

I think if you are upfront with your private buyers, they will be understanding enough. I think the issue is that very few dealers are willing to make the effort and hard work to be better than others and top in the industry.

Standards are already so low, and some average or mediocre dealers choose to blame others instead of thinking hard about how to make things better and rise above their competitors.

re: unless used car agent can get those kind of margin...

Have you tried being consistent with your value added to all buyers and track your progress? If people can see the effort you put in to be transparent and high quality service, they won't give introductions and repeat business?

Being upfront can mean losing money. Hence, honesty is a rare commodity these days, not just in this trade but where profits can be made.

There are bad apples in every season and crates.

As such, instead of waiting for honesty to be birthed, we may do better to be defensive in our approach, something like defensive driving, we be defensive in buying 2nd or even brand new cars.

Personally, if buyers are better "educated" or street wiser, they have a better chance of coming away with a decent 2nd hand ride at a comfortable price within their means.

Over time, dealers will either clean up or chut more patterns or give up. Because there are also one kind buyers who want to pay minimum yet have unrealistic expectations of the car they want. Suckers everywhere also got. And many times they kpkb the most when they choose to be lazy, expect diamonds when budget is for copper plus, scream murder when actually they lied as well or twisted their stories to gain sympathy. Haiz...the world is round, so be warned, karma comes around v fast due to gravity. Pls be honest and you will be surprised at the rewards that comes your way. But honesty's best friend is patience. Most too impatient for quick gains so take shortcuts including cut cut cut to own character.

Just sharing my tots. Have a good weekend.

Safe ride

Cheers

Hi everyone,

I have been a dealer for 18 years and I agree to context written by him. Jackson reputation has been very bad in the automotive industry, he is reputable for cheating dealer's and owners with inflating of prices, collecting numerous deposit, repair bill without invoice. Multiple chances have been given for him to repent but he choose to lead this manner. Jackson splurge his ill gotten gains on gambling and night joints which is still on-going even after releasing from prison. Anyone whom know Jackson would know all his dirty stories and I am anticipating him to return back to prison.

You from which dealership?

Did you bring up to small claims? I had encounter with them in 2014 when I bought a 2nd hand car from them, my post in the earlier thread. Anyway they cheated my down payment: super markup insurance cost + 1 month additional installment. I went to small claims and only then they pay me back everything. I still remember the sales man named Adrian Chin (90033987), f up person.

Whats the use to bring to their workshop when they already say they dont have that specific part? i need to have my car repaired asap as i use it for work. I`m just going to bring this to small claims tribunal

Sorry to hear that, so meanwhile you have a broke down car that cannot be driven and gonna wait for an outcome or just simply get it repair out from your pocket first?

i see. Thanks for the heads up and all luck to your claim and its only right that such company should be shamed.

Btw what is the damage? That part does not seem too expensive though.
