Zxcvb Turbocharged March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 I believe this is the best time to bet on a $1 COE. Within the next 2 months or 4 biddings, there might be a chance for a fluke result.
Solar Turbocharged March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 another option.. import the car yourself.
Forte3737 5th Gear March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 just a wild thought, which i will put in $10,001 bid next week. i believe scrapping gets back a good protion of the PARF and COE-unused portion. (my COE is more than 50K level, so you can guess when it was obtained) (1) if i get the bid at $1, i cannot transfer to current car right? (2) scarp gets me more $ or selling to AD/2nd gets me more $? (3) if COE drop, sell to 2nd hand car dealer confirm drop i think timing is important. eg: sell first, bid for a few times then buy again. (40-50% down... later then say) can any experts advise if my thinking is logical? Thanks in advance. you do not have to think of options cos this not going to happen
Leepee 1st Gear March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 Not likely to drop to $10,000 this round due to many unfulfilled bookings from those desperate 100% loan buyers.
Sk65 1st Gear March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 Not likely to drop to $10,000 this round due to many unfulfilled bookings from those desperate 100% loan buyers. ya, i know this also. must plan ma... i love my current car la. even if scrap and buy new, i think i will buy the same make/model but getting a 50K straight line depreciation vs $1 straight line depreciation not very hard to convince yourself to think a bit harder to try to find a way to make it possible right? Sk65 1st Gear March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 you do not have to think of options cos this not going to happen u mean people have been saying citibank will drop to $2 prior to 2008 meh ? or groupon will drop 25% 2 days ago? if its common knowledge, then the car industry will not be as messy as now. Soya Supersonic March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 Came across this ad by KM. The civic OMV is a tad over $20k, so i presume d/p is 50%. KM website lists the 1.6 civic at $122k. So if d/p is $45k, does it mean the selling price is $90k? COE expected to drop by $30k?
PorkChong Clutched March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 they expect COE will drop to even lower than 30K...but only after next few rounds of bidding..probably back to the range of between 10k-20k+ range.

COE drop back to 10-20K plys range? I guess very unlikely, since the COE quota is cutting. If COE can drop to around 30K already consider quite good. Cars08 1st Gear March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 if COE drop to 10K...it is many bros' dream...since all wanted COE to be affordable...
Zanter 3rd Gear March 1, 2013 Share March 1, 2013 (edited) if COE drop to 10K...it is many bros' dream...since all wanted COE to be affordable... Yeah its less tax give to Govt. Affordable maybe less so, they have to make it less affordable in order to rein in the COE bubble. PAP cannot afford a 200k COE, they would be opposition if so They last time they rein in COE prices was when it tried to reach 100k as well, so that is their level of concern, that time it moderate to 50k, then quickly to 30k+, then 20k Edited March 1, 2013 by Zanter ↡ Advertisement
