What do you think?

Unless they do a business or become specialists, normal doctors in late twenties early thirties, dont earn that much. $6k does sound a bit low though.

$8k maybe more right.

Anyway , what do i know, i aint no doctor [rolleyes]

If COE drops then time to buy new car already. Before people start saving up then COE goes up again.

Came across this ad by KM. The civic OMV is a tad over $20k, so i presume d/p is 50%. KM website lists the 1.6 civic at $122k.

So if d/p is $45k, does it mean the selling price is $90k? COE expected to drop by $30k? [gossip]

Suddenly, a $90k 1.6 Civic looks like a steal

why PARF is already gone?

i also interested to know since my ride left 2+ years.

if i renew COE, i'll lose my PARF which would amount to 10k.

better for me to change another car then?

Read carefully....his is a COE car and yours is PARF eligible still.

we are living in an Uniquely Singapore.

when COE went shooting up in recent years, many predicted it will hit $100k or even break the previous record, but it didn't.

before the latest cut in quotas,COE were closing the gap towards $100k and many said "Confirm next bidding when quota cut will hit $100k",but it didn't.

instead it dropped quite considerably.

and now i really wish to see if that ,Executive Chairman with 28 years of experience under his belt, speculation of COE to drop 50% will come true or not?

It looks like he is only 6k out so far.

Cat A very likely to fall from 72k to 42k in the next COE bidding.

If it falls to 36k he will be spot on!

:D

What's the purpose of this recent fierce policy - To reduce car population. So, you think the govt will let the COE drops and create another problem?

COE prices to drop below 50k, not so soon bros, probably 6months or even longer. Even it drops 50%, a normal 1.6L Jap car still cost 80-90k, can a normal folk afford 40k downpayment ?

The only thing which controls car population is the number of COEs released each year. So your first line is wrong. After the COE quota for the year has been decided, whether the COE price is $1 or $100,000, the same number of new cars will be registered in that year. This is the basic concept of how the system works.

if those people who needed 100% loans previously

what makes u think they can

suddenly save the dp after a few years

with inflation running close to 5% for the past few years

Not to pour cold water, but I think people expecting a big drop will be disappointed. There will maybe be one or 2 freak COE results due to new measurements, & some cancellation, or approval failure of new cars in the 1st few COE bids, but it will stabilise again, when people think of ways to finance their car purchase again, & the new measurements sink in as norm.

Anything more than 20K drop is optimistic in my view. People also have to remember that if COE price drop, those that are now borderline to finince their car now will be able to finance their car again.

In the long term, it will still go up.
