can coe actually go lower? yes, provided buyers do not rush in now ( kancheong ) and buyers all opt for the package with lowest rebate level.

 

for example.

p1: rebate 35K

p2: rebate 50K

p3: rebate 65K

p4: gteed. rebate 70k

 

if all who are buying now opt for 70K pkg, the AD has no choice but to put a higher than 70K bid to get the coe.

 

if all opt for the 35K pkg, then AD can bid lower.

 

as i said, this only works if there is no spike in demand to buy new cars.

..... buyers are at a loosing end ( whether coe up or down ), example:

 

a car package is $170K, at $70K rebate, 6 bid, gteed.

 

if coe drop to $48K, the AD maybe tell the buyer " u not successful this rnd " or they refund $22K. but buyer still paid $148K, which AD still laugh to the bank.

 

if coe shoot back to 92K, AD can say " u never get " or at $170K, they already made a profit as the bufer is already built into the seling price.
