Mockngbrd Supersonic April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 What if Demoncratic guy goes to court and die die insists that his comics are fictional and not based on any country or true events? Wouldn't it mean the prosecutor will have to prove the comics are actually talking about a real country and real events? Mind boggling self pwn isn't it? true ↡ Advertisement
Pocus Turbocharged April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 When it comes to criticisms of the govt, the police is sure very quick to act. But when the person doing it is not on the different side as that of the govt, the outcome sure is very different. Ex Young PAP member Jason Neo posted a racist comment on his FB of a school bus with Malay children as "a bus load full of future terriorist". For that, he was only let off with a "stern warning". That is an outrght comment which can be arrested for sedition. We have seen similar cases of offenders being charged for sedition. But yet, the outcome for this is totally different. This has been raised many times before in the media but they just act blur and keep quiet. When neitzien did a straw poll for election 2011, he was arrested for breach of election rules. When Warren Fernandez and Team did the same early this year, the police say would investigate but after 3 donkey months had passed, no action was taken. Enough said. Posting comments in FB and forum may be an act of reckless impulse and comments of opportunity. These comment usually can be deleted or removed. And when such comments are reported usually the party take down his comments or apologize. Jason Neo's case is a "tonque in a cheek" comment when he chanced on a opportunity scene which he whipped his cam to take a photo. Moreover after the uproar he removed the picture and apologize. For Leslie's case, with the nicely done up comic strip in full color HD glory, I hardly believe it's a reckless impulse. More premeditated in this case. Plus the fact that he didn't back down to authority means he is challenging the authority. That is justified enough for police to lim kopi with him. I mean....those peeps with a stern warning most probably act remorseful and a agree to the police's terms. But if you challenge the system and authority. You'll get it. Perhaps this is what Leslie wanted in order to score point and sympathy with the masses (and at the same time instill more hatred)?

As a elected MP, the person is expected not to make fun of racial matters regardless it's premeditated or not. In fact, even if we call it a slip of the tongue, it still shows his lack of regard for such a sensitive issue. This applies to both ruling and alternate MPs I guess. Freedom of speech depends on minister mode for the day. If he don't like you, that rule changes instantly. or he better have a list spelt out clearly, saying someone is X = ok Y = KO etc.. That's why everyone have to be a lawyer, before you open your mouth.

If Xenophohia is a form of discrimination in the future. All his comics will bite him back in the future. Edited April 24, 2013 by Pocus
Gendut 2nd Gear April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 When you kill the messengers, eventually you will have no one to point out your mistakes. Obviously the old adage applies: The truth hurts. So don't hurt the messenger. Change, so that whatever people say will no longer hurt because its no longer true. I'll be waiting for 2016 to change the hurt.
