The T-shirt is crude but nothing about religion at all. All that was printed was "I'm F--king Special".

I would expect AM to use the F word quite excessively. Not sure why he was offended.

Maybe his name has the word "Special" so got offended cos the teen was F**king him... hahaaa

I suspect the AM saw a small size Asian guy easy to bully. If another AM was wearing the same t-shirt, I think he wont dare open his big mouth.

Maybe be cannot F already, see liao lagi dulan so mental snap that day.

Bullying is wrong but dont think need his company to issue any discipline action.

Thumb up to the guy who stand up for the teen. This is for you [thumbsup]

The matter has been settled on that day. Disagreements and war of words are common on the street. Which is why I was not impressed with Shanmugan's comments.

Too many social media incident end up company terminating those in the wrong, maybe he though that is the norm.

If the statement came out from a normal folks I can understand.

Minister we expect them to lead and have better knowledge, they really need to be mindful of what they share or speak, sometime their statement read/heard already really shake head.

I'm not really impressive with him either way heard some story about him.

The one I'm impress with is Tharman Shanmugaratnam

Tharman?

The one that implemented additonal petrol tax when crude oil price is low, saying it's the right time?

Sure but how about when crude oil price go up again? Petrol tax is here to stay whereas road tax rebate is one-off.

Talking about petrol regulator really need to make sure petrol company can justify their price, maybe bro in O&G can share some knowledge.

I'm ok with building up more national reserve when times are fine, with taxes such as these. During crisis if they don't remove then it will be a problem. High petrol price and coe do contribute to higher prices for items. I'm not that smart to come up with a solution, so if a sensible solution is presented by the person he will get my support.

Bro we don't off topic too much, we continue at Ge thread.

There is no doubt in my mind that in this day and age you have to be an impressive speaker with perfect presentation.

This will no doubt 'fool' most people.

But there has to be an intelligent brain as well.

And this is not the case with many politicians world wide even.

But I akchewlee think Tharman may be the next PM.

I like him.

Shanmugan's comments are uncalled for. Although the AM was wrong, there is nothing that he did to suggest that his employer should do something about.

There was no fight and no physical contact. If employers have to interfere with every argument on the streets, I think many people are unemployed already.

With the election looming, they try to protect Singaporeans over every opportunity trying to score points.

I'm not impressed.

Worse than that -

for a Law Minister to make such comments - it is suggestive that it is "policy" that employers should be controlling and disciplining our private behaviour.

That it is up to private citizens, and not "the state" to be punishing wrong doers.

A particularly strange position for a law minister to take

That's not all. There is a press conference to praise Elfy.

While I really appreciate that he stood up for the teenager, I think this "show" is a bit overboard.

It is near GE time, so have to have more air time in the media ....

Reminds me of the boy who fainted and KFC was just right there to the rescue with a tissue paper or hanker chief.
