In my field, if you are good, you can hit 7k in 7years. Entry level manager can be >10k (rarely). This is FACT, not hearsay. Alamak you people keep bad mouthing engineers, next time really all FT.... If you are lucky with stock options in a high tech firm, you can hit 200-300k per annum... so engineering is not all bad. Yours is a Exception rather than the norm I'm afraid. I don't trust our statistical report as it is either too high or too low from actual norm. Like for my case, my pay is higher than the stastical number by around 30% But in actual fact, I am still in the lower side for the field of my expertise. Engineering Director in big setup = SGD10,000 - 16,000 Engineering Manager = SGD7,000 - 10,000 Project Manager = SGD6,500 - 12,000 Production/Process/Civil/HSE/Electrical.... Those people like executive/officer, pay should be lower than engineer. Unless you are taking about those bankers/accountant/auditor then different.
