No wonder on Tuesday, i saw a long queue at AMK Hub money exchanger.

 

especially now CNY is so near.  Ppl change and keep to spend during CNY

bluff people wan. went down, queue for 1 hour, ended up changing at 3.10 flat instead if the advertised 3.11

wasted my time! TMD!

You should check the rate before you queue and not rely on the link cos it may not be updated. Anyway, Arcade got so many MCs quite easy to compare as their Board displays rates prominently. Frankly even if you change S$1K, it's only S$2 difference between 3.1080 and 3.11 but I guess it's the satisfaction of getting better rate and also you feel shortchanged that the link says one rate but when you change is another, chill!!

walked two round, found that shop to be the better rate at 3.107.

so i queued.

3 slots before my turn, dropped to 3.105.

come my turn, flat 3.10.

1 whole hour.

 

if i knew i would be changing at 3.10 flat, any of the other shops could have given me that rate, minus the 1 hour queue.

why you think i so mad?

Wow that's frustrating!! Whilst I accept that rates fluctuate, this particular shop seems like changing their rates regularly and maybe a ploy to lure unsuspecting clients to queue and then lower their rates. Empathize with you.

In the past, it's better to change in Singapore but over the past year or so, I heard JB MCs giving better rate than their Singapore counterparts so your are right, better to change in JB instead but do be careful and best not to change in those ulu or places in the open cos you never know.

 

Malls and shopping centres should be safer I guess.

Why queue?? There are so many money changers here and in JB offering similar rates. I will never queue more than 5mins.

So you still changed with them in the end?

 

Walk away and go to one of the other shops la. If more people did that, this chap won't be so sneaky liao.

 

(assuming he is doing it on purpose and not reacting to actual changes in the forex market)
