How's traffic now?

ECP-MCE-AYE traffic is smooth (similar to the first few days of opening) at 0800. Not sure about the MBFC situation though.

the traffic would probably resume to a normal flow by 2nd week of January, then we will see it can cope.

having said, i believe some drivers have made changes to their travelling pattern or time, some may avoid and use alternate route, some may go in earlier.

The road surface of the MCE is really smooth. Will be good if they can also do the same for the other expressways esp AYE which has been ravaged by the container trucks for so many years.

Now got to remember to watch out for the speed and change the cruise control accordingly.

Why don't they standardise it rather than varying it.. The so called bend can't be taken at 80kmh? Driving tuk tuk or what?

Remember - we are talking about Altis Uncle and Volvo auntie drivers here - they cannot handle bends. At All.

Read today paper, got big big ad from LTA - full colour in ST - dunno what other papers also have.

Read also in yesterday paper about the delays - shudder to think what happens once traffic back to normal volume. OUCHEE...

But now mebee can INCREASE ERP as traffic speed will be slow!! Charge $20!!

Bing bing bing

the only road standard that surpassed this surface will be the F1 track as mentioned by LTA

The MCE is a huge con job. Years back I wondered why malaysia KTM was given that out of nowhere plot of land in exchange for giving up the railway land to Singapore. Now we now why najip n pinky recently have selfie.... they r developing that area to make money.....

Well, you can cycle on Nicoll Highway.

It has nothing to do with the road. It is because the driver CAN'T drive. A lot of driver "overly cautious". Look at PIE to CTE entrance. The long q is caused by drivers rather than road design.

Ya, to have a very smooth road is not easy, and need higher constant maintenance which will end up higher cost. I believe the road surface in MCE will deteriorate in a few months to 1 year time. By then it will be a challenge to maintain the road smoothness due to the heavy road usage and a lot of heavy vehicles travelling via MCE.

Actually, we is important is the base of the asphalt. The best i have seen so far is those using Cement. The asphalt need lesser maintenance.
