just like nasri and glichy? how irornic they will not be going WC after being a regular in MC and winning the BPL.

While kos, giroud and sagna will be going.....

Different national teams have different priority I guess, all down to the NT managers.

For me, I don't really care if Pool players are picked. If they are happy for them. If they aren't, happy for the team - one fresher player

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/378763/Everton-star-Ross-Barkley-TOLD-to-sign-for-Liverpool-in-38m-deal

1) Can Pool afford Brakley at that price?

2) Is he worth that price?

3) Don't remember any player in recent history moving across Stanley Park, either way. Last time had Ablett, McMahon but none since then if not mistaken!

Just ignore. Aren't going to happen :)

True, but experience for the player won't have too much an impact when they return to their clubs.

For club glory, the team has to build up that common experience as a team, just like how Pool players went through this season. The players individually going to WC with their NT, though gaining experience in playing in big matches, won't translate directly to their club form and performance.

guess we belong to different scholl of thoughts..

i feel what they experience with the country will put them in good stead for club and vice versa

tactics, manager way of doing things, mixing with the boys, training methods and most important of all the atomsphere and the pressure and expectations of the country

Yup, different.

I feel the players must first be established as a player for the club, build up his credential for his country manager to pick him to represent the nation. That itself, is and honour and a recognition of what he had achieved thus far with his club.

Those who are their national first XI, will definitely be key player in their respective clubs. For those who are there to make up the squad, apart from the get together and feel good factor, they don't really have the chance to experience much.

2 sub appearance say 20min each do you think will make him a better player when he returned?

Hehe, agree to disagree then :)

In this day and age of FFP, this would be impossible!

Agree. More importantly is that Messi won't leave Barcelona and he is expected to sign an extension this summer.

Targets re-aligned for this window liao.

Info I have is that Pool are working on 3 deals:

Moreno, Lallana and Kovacic

kovasic is a good buy.

looks damm gd at Inter. was once touted the golden boy of croatia. and probably still has bags of potential to unlock if BR able to teach him some tricks.

moreno... firstly hard to pry him from spain if barca and RM really interested in him. but given that they already have marcelo and alba i don't understand why they'd be in for him in the first place. secondly. pool don't seem to have a good track record with spanish buys. alonso aside, the rest of the spanish seems like a flop. from morientes, aspa, enrique, all didn't do well.

lallana is a late bloomer. had a good season with soton that's for sure, but not really sure if he will maintain or just a one season wonder. price is over for someone so new to the top level.

instead of lallana , i would rather go for shaw. younger. more potential. future england first choice. more resale value in future too. and it's probably less risky than moreno, in terms of less culture shock.

Serge Aurier looks set to be heading to Arsenal to replace Sagna who is likely to be off to City.

Nice. How many players have moved from Arsenal to Man City huh?

Kovacic i believe is pushing luck. Inter unwilling to do business. Still sore over a Coutinho :D

Moreno now vying with Real Madrid (fav) and Chelsea. Pool's advantage is the guaranteed first team spot. He virtually is having no competition.

Lallana looks more likely to join as he wants us. Sticky point is the price. Southampton is holding on for £25m which I believe is too inflated

You r right that Shaw possibly offers more value but then again he's likely to cost at least 5mil more than Lallana. Crazy isn't it!

If we avoid Shaw and go for cheaper alternative like Moreno, why aren't we doing the same with Lallana? This is something I cannot understand

I agree with you on this.

There's so much budget only. Firstly, they have to prioritise which position more crucial. Secondly, whether there are cheaper alternatives. Thirdly other clubs may also go after the same targets.

That's why it's not easy to operate in the transfer market.

Shaw if you ask me is ridiculously priced and that's why Pool feel not worth pursuing esp if the United bid of 27mil is true. Lallana, by virtue of the fact that he wants to join and also Pool feel there's no real competition for his services, so think they can possibly "steal" him for 20mil?

That's my feel on this but then again, is it really a must to get Lallana and who's going to give way to him? Allen? Coutinho?

Unless BR see Lallana very up, someone that could help propel Pool cause for League Champion.

I no doubt his capabilities, but the price tag is so much higher !

5 mill more is worth it if you ask me.

5 yrs later lallana is almost 30 with minimal resale value.

by then shaw would have been a established england international at the prime of his career. even if he chooses to go, pool could potentially have a gold mine on their hands.

on question is, whether he'd choose manure over poo? even with champ league.... pool may not be such a attractive destination bearing in mind that pool last won the title few yrs before he was even born!

exactly. midfield is a area, pool is actually pretty decent. henderson, coutinho, allen lucas all are doing well.

defence is more critical.

That's also very true!

But I can't imagine paying close to 30mil for a fullback bearing in mind a striker like Costa costs 32mil. It's a real gamble and lucky I'm not the person making this kind of decisions haha!!

This one not Championship Mgr game hor.....

u r right bro and I would even add that Pool needs 2 CDs!!

That Caulker of Cardiff is worth a gamble in my opinion, 2nd CD may be more difficult to choose cos all the good ones are pricey!

ANy thoughts on Shawcross of Stoke. Abit of a dirty player but solid!!
