How can a national team be so clueless:

Avoiding long-haul truckers, slow-moving caravans and tractors is not many peoples idea of the ideal warm-up for a Commonwealth Games time trial.

But that is exactly what the four members of Sri Lankas cycling team were confronted with on Wednesday when they decided to go on a training ride down one of Scotlands busiest motorways.

Jeevan Jayasinghe, Buddhika Warnakulasooriya, Dinesha Adikari Mudiyanselage and Sriyalatha Wicramasinghe were spotted on their bikes travelling on the inside lane of the M74 before police stopped them and told them they were breaking the law.

Yeah...at least they are riding with in the correct direction.. Those ft ah neh, tiong n bangra ...against the traffic in sine land...sigh

I heard the story, but I think its totally crazy. It was reported that she could get a new jacket, but she refuse to wear it as she said it took 2 months to get used to it.

I totally understand that customize gears are critical, in certain sports, & you lose competitive edge if you do not used the gears you are accustomed to, but that is NOT a reason for you to quit competing due to that. Its pretty unprofessional if you ask me.

Her nation pay a huge sum of money for her to compete in Scotland, & she just refused to compete because she wasn't wearing her favorite jacket!

I find it surprising that the jacket was misplaced only as quoted. Usually their accessories are packed together; jackets, shoes, optics, etc . The jacket is an integral part to her and her equipment and a ill fitting jacket looses all her winning chances literally. Whether she compete or not with or without a new jacket; she's screwed either way.

I guess the Team Manager and Malaysia Airport has a lot to answer.

Not a political statement? And they believe him? His father is called Gaza? Short for Gazali? And he owes Ah Long money because he bet on Brazil? How can we save him?

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/games-opening-ceremony-the-twitter-viewfrom-scottie-dogs-to-rubiks-cube-of-baton-that.1406185071

Something odd happened. There were 71 nations and about 40 dogs. When it came to one nation, the dog refused to walk and had to be carried........

Fans flocked to Twitter to tell of their delight as the terriers trotted around Celtic Park sporting red tartan coats bearing the name of the national team they were leading out.

Around 40 Scotties took part in the celebrations in Glasgow, with many "recycled" to accompany more than one nation.

But it all became too much for some weary animals and they had to be carried around the stadium.

Jacqui McKinnon said that her pet Jock had auditioned for the star role in the opening ceremony, but when the big day came he unexpectedly staged a sit-down protest.

She said: "The dogs dealt with it really well; it's just Jock decided he wasn't walking. As soon as I put his Malaysia coat on he thought 'I'm sitting down'.

So Jock was the one who was carried around the Celtic stadium."
