Have the reasons for removing the beeping lights from commercial vehicle when they exceed the speed limit be explained?

 

With today's in-car camera, we can help LTA by sending video of these vehicles will their light flashing for them to take action leh. Hello, LTA can hear me or not?

As far as I can remember, the beeping lights are only installed in smaller commercial vehicles and not the big trucks.

And these lights are no longer installed on any commercial vehicle. Only the speed warning device in the cabin.

 

The lights should be brought back. Then it will be easy to tell which van or lorry is speeding on the road.

You get to see a few of them still having the light on top if you are lucky, but they are not working.

The most frightening vehicles speeding on the road are these commercial vehicles, especially those big cranes and lorries, even the 40 ft containers. Sometimes I wonder if they can stop on time with that weight and if they are able to see clearly what is beside them. 

 

While I welcome the beacon lights, gps tracking and recording is the way to go. LTA can request for these record for verification whenever they receive any feedback. Then speeding will be history.

most if not all the tipper trucks in SG are installed with GPS tracking, but more for the company to track their vehicles rather than speeding...

No enforcement on Goods Vehicles on the 2nd lane from what i can see. 
Probably because no checks and balances and not part of their KPI to catch.
