I still remember playing Wolfenstein on a 286Mhz or 386Mhz computer. What VGA monitor. Play until giddy want to throw up. LoL...

Looking at where we are today....how far technology has advanced is truly amazing. Even my smartphone is faster dan a 286.

Lol wolfenstein

I actually got physically sick playing that game... nausea, threw up... then fell sick and never touched it ever since.

And those noisy modems when they dial-up...

Parents knew u're up to crap when it sounded late at night

tesla's space x already leading the way in interplanetary travel... its a matter of time as humans have pretty much sucked earth dry of its resources liao...

i researched on space law & its unclear abt land ownership n another planet, so i guess it means if u can find livable atmosphere elsewhere, u can "own" watever land u corner off lol

Erm we are far far away from that if you understand the issues lah.

To even have a sustainable colony on mars, most likely not in my lifetime.

That's why I love US robotics modem cos can turn off the volume of the hissing via a knob. At night only hear click sound. Only turn p.o. volume slightly when encounter problems in connecting to isp. Heard the sound got funny things or not.

i tell you all a secret

humans are the aliens on earth

actually trillions of years ago, humans cum from a galaxy far far away

as we suck our galaxy of its resources, we were left with no where to go

then one okatu spotted a funny blue planet far far away, so far, even our warp drive engine c**t bring us there fast enough

there was another problem: there were many fierce joker chew there, mouth bery big, whole day say feed me

so we send those jokers a rock to burnn their sorry arse

to overcome the long distance travel which will take too many lifetimes, the most talented of us had to drink some kind of black sesame paste

problem is the paste taste like shiit and drink arleady, jit tao tua lao sai, lao kui kor, whole body also lao chut lai

then they use spaceshit to ship the sai to funny blue planet

now this sai then becum the origin of man [laugh]

VGA got 256 colors liao, state of the art. EGA was only 16 colors nia.

And CGA was only 4 colors, like this:

I remember this!! Alley Cat,,,

It's very ironic... These technologies are supposed to make life easier for men but we only want to outdo ourselves by squeezing more work into the same time-frame. Imagine before emails, memos were circulated around the office. Things still get done....

Yup my first PC also 1991. Was also a 386DX with 33Mhz. With both 5.4" and 3.5" disk drives and a 80MB Harddisk. Running on MS DOS 5.0.

My PC has an edge as my dad upgrade to 4MB RAM instead of the usual 2MB. With that my PC was able to play games optimized for the 486, like Doom, Falcon 3.0 and Ultima underworld, although slower.

My PC cost a whopping 3K that time. Nowadays you can get a very high end PC with 3K.

I worked at the old Funan Centre briefly delivering computers to homes .. still remember one uncle bought 286 keep complaining damn slow. Told him 386DX faster but twice the price, he diam diam. [laugh] There was also 386SX with only 16-bit ISA bus. So much more $$$ for only slight improvement in speed. Smartphones are now at least 1,000 times faster ?

16bit ISA bus is for all 286 and 386 systems. Only the 486 have the super long and big 32bit VL Bus. I remember all the VL Bus cards are big and expensive. Luckily it's short-lived.

Due to advancement in PCB fabrication, the newer 64bit PCI bus is as short as the ISA bus.
