As I wear my specs full day, I need them to be as light as possible. It's heavier, but not really that heavy. For those with very high power, in fact, it's better to use glass than hi-index plastic lens.

When I made my glasses, I used back my old glasses prescription which they measured from my existing pair. Likewise from Lenskart, dont trust those youngsters to measure. i don't know. Think my parents glasses are made at owndays and they seem ok.

Kangadrool Supersonic April 19, 2021 Share April 19, 2021 (edited) Useful info here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niw8wgmRvKU&t=674s In short, get the smallest and rounder as possible. Simply because the lens blank is round in shape. Edited April 19, 2021 by Kangadrool

Maybe it's just my eyes a bit different, but I've had 1 not fitted properly and it's not comfortable wearing it. Changed it within a year though I normally try to make my glasses last as long as possible given how expensive they can be. I used to live near Thomson plaza. Didn't know there's a good place there. I had very good eye check from this qoo10 seller , Eyecon. All my subsequent purchases from ownday and Lenskart are using the prescription from this guy. Old man here, degree hardly change for years. A few years back, my son just had his eye checked from National eye centre and a couple of days later went to this guy's shop for eye check and glasses purchase. I didn't show him the SNEC results so I can test his skills. Very thorough. Result is swee swee on the dot compared SNEC. I was prepared to use the SNEC result to make his glasses if the result turn out different.

My eye condition more or less stable since 2006 or so. That optometrist back then is very well trained. I believe he was the Head of the association or something. He's trained overseas, son of a spectacle shop owner. Ha his shop was in Wheelock so subsequently went to more budget friendly place. The setting he used is more or less the same since then. All the other optometrist usually follow it even though sometimes they query. Though I think the latest guy made some small tweaks. But he tested quite extensively. Even bring me outside the shop to test for distortion.

Wheres the shop? https://www.eyeconoptical.com/contacts-us/ Need to make appointment in advance. The selection of frames there is not to my taste, but you can bring your own frame. Need to add small "cockage"charge. And oh ya..they do make real glass lens at very affordable price.

A lady but forgot her name, better than the guy I find. Not because I Chee Hong. I have a tendency to stick to the usual shape/ material for my frame, my current optometrist is good at recommending new designs that keep me up to date with the time and are suitable for my face. I have to go against my instinct a few times and he turned out to be right almost all the time. Owndays doesn't provide this type of personalized service. What about KS? As most of my spec are Oakley, they tend to recommend latest design Oakley. I need flat design spec for some years. They have never recommend any curvy design. ↡ Advertisement
