Because someone told me that sometimes they may put wrongly. So I just voice out my suspicions and they change for me immediately. Noted that I am not saying that they put mineral oil in my car in the first place. I like what they did for me just based on my suspicion.

As for the tyre pressure, it is really up to individual, I like the feel and drive of the car @ 34/32psi. There are a lot of talks about road holding and driving in wet weather when we don't follow the recommended specs. For me, 36/34 psi is really too high for me when I drove in wet weather. @34/32 it suit me well. I really don't know about other tyres as I only try out the stock. I guess a lot depends on individual feel and preference when driving car.

btw anyone pump nitrogen. Heard its better at retaining the pressure in the tyres. Edited by Sglanevo

Funny thing is that i pump lesser, meaning more then a week then i pump as compared to prev old altis which i pump in a week or lesser. But my fc seems to be the same. Maybe its due to 60% city driving. I would always choose the shortest route when using goggle map

Hw to feel with juz that slight psi difference? Hopefully i get to feel what u feel soon. Thnks for the info

Based on 40l, a improvement of 1l/km already generate 40km. To me that is a lot. I used to drive Honda Civic, Nissan sunny & Camry. Sunny is a drinker. While all my peers do 9-9.5, I was constantly able to do 10-10.5. I always calculated by FC this way. Reset my meter when I need to pump. For my next trip to the pump station, I take note of how much petrol I pump. Then I take the reading from the meter and divide by litres of petrol pump. I always go to the same station and counter. So far for the Altis, it is pretty similar with FC display by car with an error of +/-.3.

I suspect that shortest doesn't mean the most fuel efficient. Old taxi uncle always tell us the fastest route involving highway is the Cheaper. Somehow, I trust them. Many of my badminton kakee who is taxi driver also tell me so.

2 psi aro 14 kpa and is actually a lot. I used to pump 20kpa more on my old worn out tyre in my Honda Civic and the tire burst while I am on the highway.

If u are going to try higher psi, do it when the car has been running sometimes and when the weather is hot. This allow the tyre pressures to reduce a bit when the weather cool.

Please note the drawback of higher tire pressure. Even for me, I take precaution like never drive on the extreme lane and slow down during heavy downpour. Sorry, this is my last allowed post as a newbie.

Thnks for sharing. Thats why i read too on higher psi when car is running for awhile. Probably will try the more efficient route next time to see if it does improves fc. As mentioned before it is the idling that killing the fc. The system will starts calculating when yr is idling with engine one or can i say geared in. Btw i did try shifting gear to N during park mode and the reading disappear frm the odo. But this hurts the gearbox more from what i heard.

Neutral Newbie

Hi Guys,

Anyone knows the aftermarket rim size / offset for 16 or 17inch Altis if I were to change out my stock 17 rims?

Not sure if i should downgrade to 16 inch or remain 17inch.

Based on what i google, the actual correct tire size for 17inch should be 225/45/R17 instead of 215/45/R17. Not sure why they give us this tire profile too..

I suspect that BM is awared of tire noise that is why they give 215 for stock. Just guessing.

I did nitrogen on my sunny donkey years ago when it is first introduce in the market. Doesn't feel that it improve my sunny in anyway in areas of pickup, road holding or FC. Last time, no TPMS so nvr really monitor. I find it very troublesome as I have to go back to the same tire shop that give me free top up check. Initially I very on, every month went in to check and they always say I already top the nitrogen for U. After some time Sian, cannot feel anything good from it.

An update on my journey with the Altis.

Did my complimentary respray. On the bonnet and car boot. Did a ding repair on driver door. Both appointments are separate. Thus 2 trips to Pandan.

But the respray on bonnet was not well done. There were swirl marks seen on some parts. I only had time to drive back about 2mths later. The SE entertained my feedback, and rectified immediately. Apparently they didn't sand down properly after paint, and polished. So had to redo. Took about an hour or two.

Still, when I went to a respray workshop to settle my bumper, they still manage to pick out about 2-3 spots that had dirt speck stuck on the paintwork. So those taking the complimentary respray, be warned.

They also noticed the color for the bumper and the color on the fender is a little different shade. Maybe plastic vs metal effect.

I had battery issues few months back. At times it couldn't start up. Need to push button 3-4 times. Risky especially for cold start. Drove into Sin Ming to have it checked out. Seems my dashcam (IROAD V7) used in parking mode, need to set batt voltage to 12.3. Anything below that will render the battery weak for cold start. So far so good for the factory battery. I believe a change is needed by end of 2nd year.

Did my 20K servicing 2 wks back. Paid only for my engine oil. Changed the cabin filter (only free for this change).
