Hi bro, I am new here. Got my Altis one month plus. The windscreen and side window get very foggy outside during raining days. Viper can clear the windscreen but the side window needs to wind down. Wonder if any bro experiences it and how to approach it. Thanks.

Anyone knows if the latest Altis can run on RON 92 ?

My se told me specifically to pump 95 and above. So I guess best to stick with 95 above bah.

Neutral Newbie

Hi just ordered a new altis this weekend :)

Read all the old threads and understand that the older Panasonic HU is slower in starting up and less user friendly in navigating around. What about the newer Pioneer HU? Are the feedbacks better? Tks

U may check on the Toyota handbook

If not wrong is possible to use

But u may wanna consider like what Drion said minimum at Ron 95 better for your engine :)

I think the running Operating system is different also

Current one is an android base

So far the current model no complain

But will lag if don't clear the memories just like and andriod phone

Double tap on home button to see the running program

Then press the dustbin icon to clear :)

My SE told me to use 98 for the first month. After that, 95 or 92 is Ok. He also told me to be that sometimes the service dept may use mineral oil instead of synergic oil for the first 1k, 5k servicing. If u feel yr car is rough or the feel is not right, voice out. Also, I was told that the engineer that was trained in Japan on the servicing of Altis is positioned in Leng KEE . If anyone has issues that cannot be resolved by any service centre, the best is @ Leng KEE.

Mine front Windscreen get foggy during raining. Instruction say is normal due to water vapor trapped under solar film. It will go away eventually. Mine go away after 3 weeks. For side window, I do not have this problem. I set my temp. @ 26 & fan speed @ 1 bar.

Mine ->

1k - Oil change only. No change of oil filter.

5k - Inspection only.  No change of oil.

Anyone knows if the latest Altis can run on RON 92 ?

From the Owner's manual -> RON91 and above.

I got this issue as well although now lesser. Another way is to let outside air come in.

All are welcome to join. During servicing, better voice out all concerns. Btw i hve signed up their infinity shield program for better disc after the free servicing and its cheaper at 162. Heard frm out grp that you can request for oil change even they dnt but with topup. So far fc still soso cos mostly on city driving with frequent start stop due to lots of traffic lights. The idling of the engines kills the fc.

Hw i knw. While waiting at the redlights, u will notice the fc dropping. Then hw i highway driving improves fc u asked?

While driving in the expressway, press the right button on yr steering wheel to reset the fc reading. Now witness the awesome fc u shld never see b4. Mine hit 30km/l

For me i always on 95 since i notice there isnt much diff esp after calculating price per litre for 95 with worse fc over more exp 98 with better fc. Cant rem cos donkey years ago. Now using spc with everyday card cos it give the most disc. Might try caltex 95 for awhile to do my test again cos they have add in additives. :)

During my first 1.2k before servicing, my FC is 13.5l/km. It is very quiet, smooth and pickup is really fast with low rpm. After servicing, they lower my car tyre pressure down to recommend specs from 36psi front and 32 psi back. I am so depressed as the car tyre noise is so noisy, not as smooth and pickup need higher rpm. My FC suffered. When in highway, it remain no change, while in city drive, it drops by 0.1. I went back BM, ask whether they give me mineral oil or not. BM say no and if I don't believe, they will drain my engine oil and then put in new engine oil. At the same time, I ask them whether I could put in 34psi front and 32psi back to my tyres. BM say is up to me and he happen to drive the Altis too comment that he do this. After this changes, my car feel like drive before the 1k servicing and my FC now is 14lkm/l. I am now trying out 95.

Correction should be 13.5km/l. New car tyre pressure is 36psi front and 34psi back.

Didnt known that fc suffers, we can go back to demand for engine oil change. Lol.

So the recommended pressure for our tyres is 34 frt and 32 back? All the same for different size tyres?

Sometimes I feel it is really LPPL. One do a lot of city drive with low FC, he pumps every week. One do a lot of highway with good FC, he also pump every week.

Because someone told me that sometimes they may put wrongly. So I just voice out my suspicions and they change for me immediately. Noted that I am not saying that they put mineral oil in my car in the first place. I like what they did for me just based on my suspicion.

As for the tyre pressure, it is really up to individual, I like the feel and drive of the car @ 34/32psi. There are a lot of talks about road holding and driving in wet weather when we don't follow the recommended specs. For me, 36/34 psi is really too high for me when I drove in wet weather. @34/32 it suit me well. I really don't know about other tyres as I only try out the stock. I guess a lot depends on individual feel and preference when driving car.

Funny thing is that i pump lesser, meaning more then a week then i pump as compared to prev old altis which i pump in a week or lesser. But my fc seems to be the same. Maybe its due to 60% city driving. I would always choose the shortest route when using goggle map
