Mine is disabled from factory....

oh... you mean my car? :D

It is programmed into my customized drive mode profile. I still have to toggle it to my preferred drive mode each time I start the car after 4hrs.

- Sports engine/transmission

- Sports steering

- ASS OFF

- Aircon Comfort

Now is second nature...

Mercedes-Benz-GLC-250-4MATIC-AMG-Line-Dy

Wah piang. Your sentence

"Mine is disabled from factory "

Followed by

"Oh.... you mean my car?"

Errr obviously your car la. What else can be disabled from factory.... I try to imagine then I imagined and I say "never mind".

Every time I come mcf I learn something new.

Like the start stop function is like the pee system.

I think the authorise agent is able to off the system permanantly using their OBD diagnostic system. Those cheap OBD diagnostic tool that you can buy online probably cannot do it. Clear error codes still can do but to go further into the controls probably need the factory OBD diagnostic system.

I did enquire for Mz6, apparently they are unable to turn it off at all. So its out of my list.

I'm not sure but I came across it on you tube. Can be off whenever driver off the switch but will reactivate when car's ignition is off and on again.

To me if there's a switch to toggle it off means deep in the OBD setting it can be off permanantly. It really depends on who you talk to and whether he/she trust you for not bao tohing the individual if anything happens. [laugh]

If the engine shivers so much... Would that wear out the mountings earlier?

I spoke to the SE. During test-drive, he said only way is to keep the a/c at 19 degreesC. The i-stop will not cut in. [shakehead]

VAG cars need to VCDS it to remember the setting.

The usual ones that need to do programming,  for VAG cars for sharing

1. Aircon recirulating mode to off + adding menu setting

2. DRL on / off at the Menu setting

3. Hazard light on at less then 120kmh on jam brakes situation

4. tail lights on when DRL is on

IMO, start stop systems are still unrefined. Like someone here has mentioned, dealers do it just to reduce emissions.

Just like our PC when it hibernate or sleep and wakes up when u need it
