RadX Moderator May 11, 2015 Share May 11, 2015 Lim Swee Say's attempted murder of the English language: “If you’re the best today, strive to be better. If you’re better today, strive to be ‘betterer’ and if you’re ‘betterer’ today, strive to be ‘betterest’ so that over time, Singapore’s service standards can just keep getting better, ‘betterer’ and ‘betterest’.”

Spring Moderator May 11, 2015 Share May 11, 2015 My favourite and used by me regularly: Move goalposts When my bosses say one thing earlier and then later change their minds without blinking an eyelid and with a straight face even if they contradicted themselves earlier. I will mumble "Move goalposts" and they get irritated upon hearing this!! After which I will use: I beg to differ......but you said xxx earlier!! And they will abruptly cut me off and say I'm the boss so what I say goes......win liao loh!!!
