yup. if i buy a car i will also gladly post the price i paid.. why the secrecy? if they can give me such a price they also can give it others.

I think it's just basic courtesy.

Sometimes they may have hit some targets or through some lobang and were able to give you more discount compared to the rest. If you publicly disclose your quote, others might feel cheated for not having a "better" deal. I mean, who doesn't want to have a better deal?

In the end, business relationship can sour. Let's also cut them some slacks as they are also earning a living.

I think while we are encouraged not to disclose info, it's still up to us to share what we feel is ok. For that I think PMs are the rest way.

Agree to that.

Totally disagree.

Consumers should encourage more price transparency and not help dealers make pricing a secret.

Better pricing transparency brings about greater competition and more competitive pricing.

I just booked my Black Forester XT at 3.15pm today. [laugh]

The SE wasn't keen to committed to the deal. He kept msging and calling people to seek approval.

Heng was able to get the 5 year free servicing package.

Came back to office and saw the COE price went up. [smash]

Agree and support your view. Seller should offer everyone the same treatment. Why should someone be offered a better deal?

Honesty is the most basic courtesy. No need to hide here and there.

If the salesgirl blew my whistle to seal the deal, I would also keep quiet about it. [inlove]

Actually the story was the sales person said to me... 'I give you the best price, you don't have to worry, but you cannot tell others ok...deal ah?' [laugh]

Indeed, who doesn't want a better deal? That's categorically the reason why we should share quotations instead of masking them.

Got blow whistle bo jio! Got 5 year warranty or not?

To each his own opinion. Personally I lean towards open sharing and believe it's the way to go. :D

The advertisement on sgcarmart says that the promotion for 5 yr free servicing is until 5 Aug only.

He said to me that a lot people assumed it was standard but it was not true.

Not in time. We sat down at about 3.30pm to settle paper work.

Indeed. I guess it's all up to individual as there's no right or wrong. I'm just giving them some benefit of doubt. After all they did managed to secure the bid this time.

Anyway just glad XT owners finally get to collect their rides soon.

Just to check. Did you guys receive any documents to certify that you have the 5 yr free servicing? I cannot find anything on my sales agreement.

Mine was not mentioned. I checked with SE, he told me that it is a "sure give one". Will receive it in the form of voucher/coupons (12 I think) for car servicing. Do check with your SE to confirm.

I still find it strange that they choose not to put this free 5 yrs servicing in the sales agreement.

I was checking last night, it was not spelt out in the sales agreement. SE verbally said its 5 yr free servicing, will ask how it works.
