Kangadrool Supersonic June 7, 2015 Share June 7, 2015 (edited) You can disagree with him whatever.... Maybe what he is trying to say is, please respect and be respectful to local customs. The old folks always talk about "swa-sin" -> mountain gods. Whether you believe it or not, you still need to show respect. It's like when we go field camps, always say "excuse me" when you want to pee/shit...in the forests. Whatever the case, even if you are a die hard "disbeliever", just treat it as a form of "insurance" not to antagonise any spirits which may or may not be present. For those who wants to understand how team TKPS prepared themselve for the trip and those few days before the disaster struck, here is their Blog which started on 2 Jun. Be respectful, but also also appericate the courage these 12 years old had. Be warned, the Blog video and photos may break your heart. BTW, the title of their blog is... "It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves." http://tkpsomegachallenge1.blogspot.sg/2015/06/they-are-readyare-you.html

Gizmore Supercharged June 7, 2015 Share June 7, 2015 I wonder does these disrespectful climbers go to their neighbor house and strip naked to pose for a pic? I mean seriously common sense right? Even ignoring the local superstitious believe, Sabah being part of Malaysia is still very much a Muslim state and its common sense to respect the local majority culture.
Darryn Turbocharged June 7, 2015 Share June 7, 2015 (edited) Respect or not, it has zero to do with the trajedy and such discussion doesn't belong here. To draw any sort of link invites a religious discussion I'm sure no one wants or needs to hear. Edited June 7, 2015 by Darryn

Even ignoring the local superstitious believe, Sabah being part of Malaysia is still very much a Muslim state and its common sense to respect the local majority culture. Some of these are born with a pea sized brain. It's not uncommon to hear these pple strip naked or even make up during temple visits in temples or other places of worship.
