Once you depress the brakes not hard enough the engine will 'restart', no need to step on accelerator then engine 'restart'. If the iStop doesn't kick in, you didn't step on the brakes hard enough.

I reckoned I didn't step on brakes hard enough at red lights that's why istop didn't kick in, but the FC is already impressive which surprised me even more.

However during reversing to park, if Istop kicked in, sometimes even when I released the brake totally, the engine didn't restart, for that 1-2 sec the car totally stop. End up I had to tap on accelerator to restart engine. Must ask the mechanics to check this then.

Too bad. Local version has no rear disc brakes. Saw it at the Motorshow. Build wise is not much of a difference from MIJ Mazda 2. Centre console feels flimsy. Looks is good.

I like hatcbacks, but this Mazda 2 sedan version actually looks better to me. Backseats also seem more spacious than the hatchback one, no?

If mz2 sedan priced at Elantra level will be very attractive proposition n possibly move some ppl who r considering Elantra / accent to contemplate mz2.

I don't think there'll b any diff in cabin space if u superimpose mz2 hb n sedan.

Then you better get TEK to check. Probably spoilt.

Actually both style look appealing to me, just that I always like sedan style more. The new M2 sedan looks much proportional than previous bulky-body-on-small-wheels look.

Space wise I find both are the same, and though not class leading but not too cramp for someone around 1.7m tall. With reference to the specification sheet I have uploaded, the sedan interior is little more spacious except for the rear headroom. Kind of strange to me especially for the slightly more legroom in space in the sedan because both body style shares the same wheelbase. Maybe that is why you felt the sedan has got more room at the back.

The sedan rear seats can fold 60 40?

He's trying to compare Mz2 sedan vs Elantra which I agree may pull over potential Elantra buyers if price is not too far off esp since it's a Mazda after all, only drawback being MIT but it looked good when I saw it yesterday.

Personally I won't bite this Mz2 sedan at this price cos only $6k off a MIJ Mz3.

Also, at this price range, some choices like the K3, Lancer and outgoing Elantra can also be considered.

A pity though cos I quite like the car but the potential buyers of this price range are price sensitive so with the choices available, I doubt if it will be a volume seller, we shall see.

concur. for ad, only have 2 outcomes - either lower selling price or discontinue.
