Like i said. The cevs rebate thingy makes cars like jazz. Fit. Shuttles. Vezels. Qashai more attractive somehow.

U will notice no much new altis lately too. Prob failure lately due to also no cevs rebate.

No doubt kia k3 and elantra r nice. Best in the class for their top trim. But loses on fc n now elite for elantra prob priced a bit too high

Imagine a elantra elite witb a 5k cevs rebate and actual fc comparable to a vezel. Then this elantra will once again be top seller

You're kidding right? CEVS is a big joke... you pay it back at the end when you scrap your car. You don't actually save anything. I don't see how it is an attractive feature.

Yes. Cevs makes the parf. Arf goes down too.

Say omv 20k. Cevs 5k.

Arf 15k.

Scrap get back 7.5k.

Also depends on the dealer selling the car to see how much he wan2 earn.

So compare a scenario.

1. Elantra elite with omv 18k. No cevs. Arf at 18k. Scrap 9k.

Selling at 100k now based on todays coe.

2. Vezel with omv also 18k. With cevs 10k.

Arf at 8k. Scrap 4k.

But selling at 98k based on todays coe.

To most buyers if can get a jap car suv lookalike cheaper than a elantra elite. They will most prob plong for it.

From above it seems like the vezel seller parrallel importer is making more profits.

So if the elantra has a better fc. Have that cevs rebate. The selling price drops and so its competitiveness in the market improves

I'm more concerned with my total cost of owning the car. It would seem that the total cost of owning the Elantra would be cheaper cos I get that extra $5K whenever I scrap my car or sell it on.

I personally do not find the korean cars cheap these days, their prices are almost comparable jap cars and this is when the yen is at a high. However with cars like the elantra, i don't see why korean cars can't be on a level playing field with the jap makes. With poor designs for mitsubishi in the sedan segment, I won't be surprised many of their ex-loyalist have probably switched to a korean make.

Yes. It seems to be the direction the Korean brands are moving towards.

I questioned 1 Hyundai SE during the January Car Show on their price and even told them off that I can easily get a Japanese car with that kind of price. She patiently explains to me that the Hyundai models they are bringing in now are no longer inferior to the Japs and proceed to show me the features. Indeed the Koreans have come a long way and certainly hold it grounds against their Japanese counter parts.

But the mindset of most people still could not accept that Korean brands pricing is on par with Japanese brand?!

It's a matter of perception, really. There is no right and wrong about this.

Even though I am driving a Jap car now, I'm really "wow-ed" by the new Hyundai cars. I also received good feed backs from peers who owned a Korean ride and that reinforce my beliefs.

It's the sales volume that counts.the k car can be loaded with features, but what's the point if it cannot even outsell a basic Altis?

If I see 20 people queuing outside this char kway teow stall means confirm is good and suits my taste?

Your comparison is totally out of context. Are you working in management level? Such thinking usually comes from low ranking staff

Now going for the personal attack route?

With your inability to think out of the box, l shall explain and spoon feed you.

You was saying that a feature packed k car is losing out to a basic Altis in terms of sales.

So I am replying (using char kway teow queue as example) that more people buying the basic Altis means nothing to me as a consumer. I buy based on my needs.

The steering wheel is a real joke.

One of the ugliest ever seen. It's a big let down.

Look at Mazda 3

mazda 3 is the worst. seat so small, elantra way bigger, just focus on the back seats will u

But the mindset of most people still could not accept that Korean brands pricing is on par with Japanese brand?!

u cannot influence the masses then it'll always remain this way lo. its just like japanese makes are not on par with conti makes even for competing models.

maybe yes, maybe no, sometimes just stall owner a bit slow, or it being the only stall selling this item.

Actually in the past I used to think nothing of LG and Samsung TVs when it first came out and thought Sony would never be beaten by these Korean brands. Of course things are history now.
