I agree with some of u all here, yes, I also think that coe will continue drop and go downtrend... I know there are naysayers or people say impossible and stop waiting for coe to drop, but as we have seen that coe have dropped 20k since beginning of year 2015, to end of year 2015, dropped 20k liao... hahaha... so u think i will listen to those naysayers or listen to the history charts and myself ? so i am hopeful that coe will continue to drop...

i am thinking by march 2016, PROBABLY DROP BELOW 30k... and by june 2016, coe may drop to a level BELOW 20k.. muahaha.. its okay, many people are waiting for coe to have bigger drop before buying cars.. no drop, then consumers will just hold back/wait... good things happen to those who wait.. I shall continue waiting for my BELOW 20k coe... *wink*..

If this really happena, i think i need to worry about other more impt things rather than car ownership.

Drop is certain. But not this level...

To me. Coe will have resistance at 45k next year.

Tats a welcome. Would be a good price for renewal.

Not necessary benefit those whom buys a new car though. As it shows, drop in coe does not necessary translate into savings for this group.

It is unlikely Coe will plummet like in the 2005-2009. Today's top headlines in straits times clearly highlighted 'zhen hu' vision with the opening of the dtl 2 that sg going towards 'car lite' city . Interpret the meaning yourselves bah. U think our roads will still be flooded with cars. Then who's going to use the public transport which cost millions to develop.

Eh, i think the order is wrong...

The govt aims to achieve carlite by building a top class public transport network such that everyone doesn't need to drive to go work, play, study. If the mrt buses lrt all swee swee and comfortable plus efficient, who would want to pay 50k for coe ... or even 15k? Think about it, when is car ownership cheaper than public transport? No matter how low COE is, cars still a lot more ex than public transport. But nonetheless, those who got extra cash and enjoys the private space in a car would still buy car. So in the end, market forces take care of supply and demand. There won't be govt intervention in the matter of COE.

But u r right to day that COE would reach the 2005 - 2009 level anytime soon. How to find another financial crisis so easily... or ... touch wood... how to get another sars epidemic so easily?

So the current levels of COE now is actually the norm. Fluctuations are purely due to market forces. Not many external events affecting it. Likely to hover around 50-56k till higher supply available.

Nonetheless, if anyone need cars in the next few months. I recommend buy now. Next bid, before car show... so still got chance to get. If during car show, many dealer start offering guaranteed 2 bids COE... u will see how high COE can go... then u got to wait for it to slowly come down again.

Why debate so much? If cannot afford, dun buy

Out of topic. I'm not even talking about buying car here.

I cannot afford car but can afford keyboard and computer to post here.

Btw: I also see you have many posts in these COE threads.....

Sometimes I see the debate also no point. It already off topic n people are still talking about it.just buy 2nd hand car or ride bike

I thought this forum is for debate and discussion. Lats I checked, this is not the place to buy car.

If buying car will be at showroom and not typing away here.

If you do not like to see debate and discussion no one is forcing you to come to the forum.

Yep. These folks are really crazy. Cannot afford. just admit it.who going laugh at them?

I have posted quite a number of times on these threads. Want to see how many posts I have, just look at the post count.

I admit I cannot afford a car but have never felt people would laugh at me for not being able to afford one.

However, you seem to think that people who cannot afford a car will get laughed at. Any personal reason for you feeling so?

I have also seen quite number of posts and a of them are in the nature of;

1) Hoping economy will tank and people will suffer

2) Wanting car price to go up so that less people can afford

3) Questioning others income and ability to afford a car when you have no idea who the other person even is.

You are really one SAD character if I might say so.

I interpret slightly differently. If we are going car-lite in the future then best to quickly buy car now and drive for this coming 10 yrs at least or else after 10 yrs no more chance liao.

Forte gets an orgasm whenever he feels anyone whom can't afford a car.

Ability to afford new car is good. But to grumble n rant and suggest alternative policies to benefit ownself is a turn off

There are a couple of well-known trolls in these forums.. just ignore them... they are not interested in sharing and discussing.  Any attempts to communicate ends up as feeding the trolls.

true that! Seriously waste of effort sometimes. Just hope that readers are discerning enough to know for themselves what's good and what's not.

Nice response bro. I take it that the expressions above are again your opinion just like all the statements you have made so far.

I have already agreed that I have made assumptions and opinions.

What about you? You still think that your opinion is a Fact?

Care to explain how the statistic you have shown on the average income for all Singaporeans relates the income growth rate for Singaporeans earning 2k 10 yrs to now or even better shut me up once and for all by putting the actual salary statistic of people earning 2k 10 yrs ago until now.

the fact is, go n google and look for the average Singaporean increament from 2006 to 2015 announced by Gov... dont be so lazy please.... and I can tell u its between 3%~5%. not the so call 9.6% u claimed...
