Wait long long.

Over the next 2 weekends, there will be many bookings, and next 2 rounds COE bids in Jan 2016 will rise.

http://www.motorshow.com.sg/2016/home/

Then comes the Motor Show from 14 to 17 Jan 2016 to pump up demand further, and add to the backlog of orders, will COE price dip further? I doubt so!

So if you have been sitting at the sidelines, NOW is the time to get your dream car. Bet you after this weekend, many distributors will raise prices.

last month Nov also got road show n everyone say the price will ho up but what happened ? already 2 person lose their bet with me.

generally the price will drop, and specially from March onwards, the price will even drop further

seem like even COE has dropped very much at the end of this year, the price of some cars still isn't the lowest for this year. If I remember correctly, isn't this $99888 list price was also shown during this part of the year when COE is higher?

Altis also the same. Early part of the year was ~100k during the Jan Motorshow. We should be seeing ~85k for current price list if COE is drop by 15k to 20k now. But why now still around Jan 15 price list?

But one thing for sure is interest rate is moving up. last year below 2%. This year above 2%..................

No true lar...see for yourself...it is $99,888, pricelist just updated yesterday at 2pm.

Coz CEVS rebate decreased by $5K since Jul this year and COE was just $2K higher in Feb when car prices were low.

Does that imply the best period to buy car is either early (Jan) and late (Dec) part of the year?

No, it depends on COE and the AD's hunger for sales.

more scrap car do not mean coe will go up. It only show many people cannot afford it. By February 2016, we should see 40k range soon.

I doubt that show will cause prices to go up

Why so careful with the choice of word?.. Yeah, i know, you 'doubt' it will go up but didn't say it will drop yeah....., let's make a firm prediction, you pick either one of these words : up or down for next round?

I pick down, what's your choice?... Hehe..

If given a choice, i would like to make it such a way that more car owners are taken off the road. Increase the loan curbs, road tax and ERP even further.Season parking also needs to go up. Hit you people tough in the wallet.

I do not have any numbers to show either way. So many is just my opinion. But the population I'm referring to is those earning 2k 10 yrs ago.

Typically these people will be in their early to mid 20s and maybe just graduated. In the early part of one's career wage growth tends to be pretty fast till you hit a certain level, then it slow down.

A 9.6% increment to someone earning 2k is only 200 increment vs 5k which is 500 increment.

So my point is that while many people do not get a 9.6% increment year on year averaged out for 10 yrs, it is possible that many people earning 2k 10 years ago could get a 9.6% increment year on year averaged out for 10 yrs.

Edwin, while i respect your opinion, but your opinion is all assumptions doesnt make any sense.. its nothing but just personal assumption from you...

I meant, in the 1st place, I dont even undestand why those people earning 2K 10 yrs ago were typically people will be in their early to mid 20s and maybe just graduated? you meant its rare to find a person in its 30s, 40s, 50s to make 2K a month 10 yrs ago? [hur]?  I seriously dont see the connection... [confused]

As for the rest of your points, its again, assumptions and assumptions base on initial points...  , you said that;

"while many people do not get a 9.6% increment year on year averaged out for 10 yrs, it is possible that many people earning 2k 10 years ago could get a 9.6% increment year on year averaged out for 10 yrs."

So? if you agree that many people do not have such increment, then what is the debate all about? [confused] [confused]
