Lazy people also tend to explore and use the least effort and processes to complete a task. Thereby improving productivity.

I think it is easier to answer that question instead of "can you tell me why you have changed 6 jobs in 10 years?" [laugh]

You know what bro; this is the irony of hiring managers.

The system is screwed up; doesn't matter if you stayed in your last job for 20 years or 6 jobs in 10 years. It's a matter of being there at the right time and right place that matters.

Latest comment I heard from young managers is that they don't want to handle staff older than them because they can't manage them.

I nearly wanted to ask them to look up the definition of 'Manager'.

To be honest, I think some older staff have better attitude than younger staff.

Yes, I agree managers should be able to handle all type. But being in a somewhat Confucius society, some younger folks may find it hard to scold their older staff.

No leh, but hor, if u r past 45, better stay in ur current job, dun anyhow change change especially when times are bad

If u r younger, also dun change now, timing not rite, wait for economy to pick up 1st where hiring pace is strong

However, if u r headhunted, different story, can explore if salary package is attractive and company is good

Keke, actually my back up plan is to become headhunter but the look of it, very difficult to tan jiak because when times are bad, companies are retrenching, all the companies save costs, recruit ex-headhunter in house to do recruitment, headhunter tan bo jiak leh

Recruitment volume low, no biz leh

Newly hired ones should be ok. Since they know it'll be hard for them to jump will guai guai.

Same can't be said for dinosaurs.

Young man, part of your attributes you need to acquire in order to move up the corporate ladder is the ability to manage people. Take this as an opportunity to sharpen your skill.

let me ask a question on whether any one of you cares about the physical look and dressing and probably ethnicity of the interview candidate.

My wife ever interview an Indian lady (no offence to any Indians here). She has no problems with Indian staff,  She already has one working in the team.

But when this Indian lady candidate walked into the room, she was wearing this huge Indian turban, like this in the picture.

My wife was so distracted and uncomfortable about the whole dressing, that she decided not to take her in.  she wanted to ask her why is she wearing this huge turban, but she thought she better not, just to avoid any suspicion that she's bias.

Like it or not, interview is a skill. Your 15 to 30 mins can make a lot of difference. Your chance increased as the interview gets extended.

Your personality and how you present yourself will have impact on the interviewer. Even if that person is not suitable, you will tends to chit chat a bit. As long as I have invited someone for an interview, I will run through the basic set of questions and answers out of respect for that person time and effort to make it for the interview.

So, you do have that opportunity to make that difference with every single chance. That is my opinion.

Good if you have acquired the skills and already sharpen them. However, having sharp knives may not be the best tools. these are usually double edges tools that cut both ways. :a-good:

With better $$ comes greater responsibility but young people these days want the $$ don't want the responsibility.
