Victor68 Turbocharged December 27, 2016 Share December 27, 2016 If you have to think so hard about parking, ERP, petrol, etc each time you drive, I don't think you are enjoying the car ownership. Of course one should not just spend unnecessary but plan ahead of your trip. For me, if I am going to an expensive parking area, I look out for the best parking rate nearby where possible. Ysc3 Twincharged December 27, 2016 Share December 27, 2016 (edited) Guess you may not be at the right place at the right time. in my area, I have seen quite a few cases of e-bakers being stopped by LTA officers...but there are still quite a few e-bikers riding like there is no tomorrow and they are usually the older ones. The other new 'trend' I notice in my area are fast e-wheelchairs (not mobility scooter) are harder to spot cos they are riding lower than e-biker. i just noticed a e-scooterer at my workplace ... to be "safe", he chose to ride on the opposite side of the road (on the road) so he can see oncoming traffic (and avoid them ?) and not to be seen as a squeezer, he rides in the middle of a lane most of the time. Riding against the traffic may give that person a false sense of security but in fact, more dangerous for the rider....less time for other motorist to react and avoid the e-scooter. S4vtec 3rd Gear January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 I know the few places where I go (eg. vivocity) have a sign at the gantry warning about tailgating. But I doubt these are effective deterrent. I think one of the better way is program the system so that if a vehicle only has entry record and no exit record, the operator shall assume that the car is still within the premise till his next visit. During the next visit, the offending vehicle shall be able to enter as per usual, but the IU number will be flagged up. The moment he exits the carpark this round, he will be charged for the carpark fee from day 1. Not enough value in cash card, the carpark attendant will come to the scene to take down the particulars and letter of demand can be issued later. caveats: have to assume they are not successful in at least one of their tailgating antics. And be prepared to handle the big hoo har these type of people will likely put up when they found out they had been charged as such. Next time, when approaching the gantry, just before the metal box where the cash card slot is, come to a crawl at almost stop speed, the machine will operate swee swee, but if you approach just a bit faster, "cannot detect this and that"..... Then, you actually need to reverse/forward/reverse.... more wasting time. Should incorporate this in the driving test. It's a skill nevertheless. But i noticed many EPS carpark the machine cannot make it de, always create problem to driver as the machine always cannot detect the IU or entry record etc. As a result long queue at the carpark exit. Just tap your card and the gantry will open. Let them enter/exit and ease away the traffic. Don't worry, there will be no deductions. I've seen a lot of kuku drivers behind them just wait and wait and wait and wait... Whenever I see these situations, I will walk over and just tap my card and the gantry will open.. And usually.. Guess what, almost 30 lots removed to allow for the installation plus the road realignment. As a result, already not enough lots, now even worse and residents resort to illegal parking. Knn.
