Summarised the article below. Didn't reproduce in case sued for copyright infringement.

A silent engine, smooth ride quality,  comfortable seats, fine cabin materials, maybe a sound system for audiophiles ? None of it. Seats are passable. It isn't a premium car.

Pretty pleasant car

If one is to buy a Mercedes simply because it's a Mercedes, then, yes, get the A 180 Saloon.  MB's cheapest four-door car with the least powerful engine.

Leaving expectations aside, A180  is  pretty pleasant in some ways. It's nice enough to drive (since small cars are nimble by nature).  Since it is not a SUV,  doesn't totter like one when asked to make it swiftly through a corner.

The ride is firm, and on some roads the Mercedes is just on the edge of jittery, but it's way better than in the versions of the car with lowered suspension, which is part of the AMG Line package that's available on the A 200 and A 250.

Small footprint

If you rev it hard it actually picks up speed gamely. More to the point, the tiny engine is fed by a tiny fuel tank that will let you spend less than a hundred bucks each time you stop for petrol.

Can fit five people into it altogether, though four would be more comfy.  Decent headroom in the back so you don't have to slouch to fit, although the seat is shaped in a way that makes your knees stick up a bit.

Allure of this car is down to its well-proportioned good looks and striking front-end styling. The interior, with its bright digital screens, gorgeous graphics, eye-catching air-con vents and customisable ambient lighting.

Anyone got any review of the C200 (1.5L EQ vs the 2L engine) ?

see bobby review and seems 1.5L better for city driving, but then maintenance wise if the EQ/batt spoilt is headach?

It is slightly slower than the 2.0  0 to 100. Got to Rev to 3k to get it going and is somehow loud. So you will make full use of the engine rev range. But then road tax is only 600 plus and real world economy more than 10km/l. Interior is about same as E class, except more plastic lower down and trunk is smaller.

Get the PI amg premium plus trim if you can afford (176k now, 52k + OMV, 5yr warranty, it's a steal), panoramic roof is nice, so no point getting the low spec ones from C and C. Amg line corners quite flat, but ride is on the firm side.

Thanks for the tip, i once drove c200 cabriolet 2018 and find the suspension actually quite comfy, can go over bump without needing to brake etc.

so the c200 amg line plus is on the firm side?

176k like really a good deal, will second hand (1-2yr old ride) consider a good deal or no difference in term of depre?

Brand new dep 14k + a bit. Unless second hand unit is below 12k for a low mileage one, I won't bother. Which I doubt you can find one at below 12k dep.

drove the C200 EQ MH before, instant pick up with zero turbo lag due to the small electric motor working .

have not tried the 2L engine one, you should do it back to back. (test drive)

EQ Small Battery / (if AD , should not be issue if first 3 years, ) if PI - you better check the terms and conditions.

there is some post / internet about the small EQ battery, don't worry it is not like 10-20K . cos these battery are used across MB line up, cost keep going down.

in fact , you can search, there are many MB using the 48 volt battery now . (BMW & Audi are using as well) but I am not sure if they are exactly the same battery model / specs

did you ask him why?  I saw some PIs  selling E class at abut 40k lower than that of C&C,   i thought it is worth exploring ?

Hi pple. I'm thinking of getting a pre-own  C180 Coupe from republic auto. Are there are ways to lower the price? Currently own a 2018 Mini One..

bring the car to an independent workshop for evaluation, nego the price base on the fix and repair you will need to do.
