Alamak, not the jap vs korean debate again.

Just go with what you like, boils down to personal preference.

Turbocharged

This is already production model... don't need to think of the concept model... too late...

If it's $140K, it will just thrash the Ford Mondeo's 2.0L turbo since the Mondeo is more than $140K... and $140K will make it really super attractive... just the right price to get it moving off the shelves...

Does also depend on the equipment list for the Stinger, if it arrives in SG lacking any of the active technologies KIA has, that could adjust the balance of that comparison. I don't think the Stinger has fully adaptive headlamps either.

Besides that I think the Stinger's hatchback capacity is also rather modest, it is less than 500L compared to 550L with a Mondeo hatch.

Engine performance and efficiency wise though both are probably in a similar ballpark, but Stinger is heavier I think. Stinger would probably have the edge in absolute dynamics due to the newer chassis and rear wheel drive though.

Ford does have an even weaker position in terms of consumer popularity here compared to KIA though so I would imagine the Stinger having the potential to do better if it really managed to hit that price point, which I am doubting given the Optima is still around. But usually buyers of this class of vehicle are unlikely to even check on KIA.

I guess it would appeal to buyers of cars in this size category (family saloons) who may not mind a smaller boot given the boost in performance...

More like rear wheel drive vs 4 wheel drive ?

Not sure if SG context would be Front wheel drive vs rear wheel drive.

But if the handling aspect as well as creature comfort like the front massage chair and active safety feature is included, its definitely a good option to consider.

Some pixs of the interior and engine bay. Will come in 2.0T. I'm guessing it'll be priced slightly above the Sorento as the range topper in SG

it sure appeals to me.

i really dig everything about this car except the badge.

by badge i dun mean the brand itself.. but rather the design of the badge.

the stylised K one that many others put is a much nicer one imo, compared to the simple oval with ugly KIA font.

Skali Silvercab buy and turn it into teksi to replace the ageing Optima

The struts in the engine bay look serious. But not digging the design in the front. Headlights seems too small and not in cohesion with the design of the grill and bumper.

i am revising my guesstimate to be

2.0t = 158k (35k OMV)

3.3tt = 198k (47k OMV)

Interesting. that will be infiniti Q50 sport territory..
