Need some advice.

Walked into Toyota showroom pretty sure I’m going to get a Harrier.

Backside itchy walked next door to Lexus and now I’m torn between the harrier and the NX300. Both Quite similar in performance and similar to current ride.

Currently driving XT and looking for upgrade.

don’t see many NX on the road. Anything negative about the NX? Is Nx worth the extra cost?

I have a lot of positives to say about the NX with the only negative for me being - it does not break, so I don't get the chance to visit the nice service centre that often.

Have you test driven both cars?

Thx. Will test drive both next week, just having a feel of what to expect.

I would expect the “does not break” to apply to the harrier too. Higher over trade for nx, so difference between the 2 about 45k. Almost same size and I did read a review that harrier is an even smoother drive.

Harrier +45k or NX......

Isn't the XT a very reliable Jap made car?

There is always justification when backside itchy.

True. Ok 95% bored..... anyway, harrier +45k or NV?

Any thoughts.

Also I got my forester xt at about 114k, so seems like quite decent time to change, don’t really lose much and get some thrill of a new ride

The Harrier is a little longer and feels a bit bigger inside. As for price, I believe Lexus can give you better discounts. I got around 30K off their list price, not sure if you can get the same with the Harrier. The price difference maybe around 30k if you compare it to the Luxury model. Price aside, the service at Lexus is much better than even Mercedes.

Wow. 30k off list price? With the overtrade I assume? Now listed at 205,800. If 30k of list price 175,800, Mai tu Liao.. ok next week test then then see can squeeze what type of price.

Harrier definitely can’t squeeze much, their profit margin only about 10%plus. Lexus 30% plus.

Both cars on paper quite similar, size, performance etc. Just badge, looks and interior....

On paper, most will not compare the weight difference. That is mostly contributed by the sound proofing materials used in the Lexus. Have you also looked at the RAV4, I think that also uses the same platform.

RAV4 no turbo with only 170bhp. The drive will be very different.

Both cars are siblings, built on top of the New MC platform that is from the previous gen RAV4 (Not the current one selling).

From what I gather, Harrier suspension is tuned softer and more comfortable, but less sharp handling compared to NX. Engine is tuned slightly lower tune for better VES penalty and seems like fuel consumption is also slightly better.

If you compare Harrier Luxury and NX Luxury, I think the pricing difference is easily 50k and above.

1 key differentiator is NX has fully integrated infotainment right from factory, but Harrier uses after-market fitted by Borneo. However, the newest one fitted in Harrier has Apple Carplay/Andriod Auto (which NX and Lexus outside USA does not have).

Do compare the cost of servicing at Lexus and Borneo motors as well.

I've always been a big fan of Toyota and Lexus, but NX reviews haven't been fantastic. Below is a review from one of my favourite sites. Do have a read to see if the criticisms are relevant in your considerations.

Harrier is excellent value vs the NX, all things considered. That said, if you have a budget in the high 100s to low 200s, my favourite in that price range is the Volvo Xc60. Can check out as well.
