It's like hitting the lorry with a stone.

How to improve the teenager's etiquette/behaviour?

Complete ban would it help? Nope. a vast network of CCTVs would it help? Nope.

A "mata" walking around fining everyone he sees for "bad behaviour? Would it help? Debatable even.

Like i said before, he probably wasn't even traveling at more than 10+ kph in the walkway, so a limit on top speed only impacts the speed demons but doesn't improve such behaviour.

I will also err on the side of caution but other than a complete ban, would enforcement help?

If he was riding a foldable mini bicycle, would u have done anything differently?

I tell my kids, bicycles are dangerous. So always stay to one side when u hear bicycle bells. by all extension, same behaviour when u see PMDs.

It's more like the culture and education that's grossly lacking here.

Angmo lady dismount and walk vs local teen ride past.

A similar but crude example..

PRC lady poop on the grass patch vs local settling in the toilet

It's all in the education and culture.. We are there but not really there yet

Make sure the bugger is injured and call ambulance.

With TP arrived, it is very likely his e bike will be confiscated as it is illegal or modded.

Tell your insurer that own damage claims.  Concurrently sign a claims repudiation forms.

Follow up with the claims department whether they have seek any compensation from the e biker every week.

If no action done, sent an email every week to the insurer CEO.

Our gahment is known to be only PROACTIVE  when jt comes to collecting money.... ERP gantries erected even before road is open for use... Or before the road usage even reach a jam situation.

Let's see how REACTIVE they are this time round in curbing the ebikes/scooter scourge.

something really needs to be done fast. to curb the reckless use of these scooters.  They are blatantly using the roads and having little regards to the safety of themselves and other motorists.  seen at least 1 such scooters on the road on a daily basis.

the authorities need to act asap.  these spate of accidents are no coincident..

E-scooter rider on road

A motorcyclist spotted an e-scooter rider on the road along Tanglin Halt, travelling towards Commonwealth MRT.

Based on a longer version of the video, the e-scooter rider was spotted by the motorcyclist way earlier when he was preparing to turn right at the traffic junction.

After the motorcyclist turned right and caught up with the e-scooter rider, he could be heard repeatedly telling the e-scooter rider to get off the road:

The e-scooter rider slowed down but continued along the side of the road.

Motorcyclist: “Hey, you’re not supposed to be on the road.”

E-scooter rider: [inaudible voice that sounds like “What?”]

Motorcyclist: “You’re not supposed to be on the road.”

“They are not allowed on the road.”

“I advise him he don’t want to listen.”

LTA enforcement officers

A fleet of three Land Transport Authority enforcement officers could then be seen pulling up beside the rider to stop him.

Based on a photo shared online, the e-scooter rider was seen being booked by the LTA officers:

To the motorcyclist:

:excl:  :a-m1212:  :a-m1212:  :a-m1212:

The escooter-er is really asking for trouble. Still want to ride into the bus bay. What if the bus driver cannot see him and crash into him?

Kudos to the TP too. These are the people they should catch.
