Its racism showing up.

It will show up repeatedly over the next decade.

Intel had a Malaysia Chinese CEO, and Trump can't stand it.

Nvidia and AMD is next.

Soon, they will be replaced, just like the American Japanese whom were rounded up in the states during WW2, because of their race.

Might as well nationalise BYD and CATL factories that are built in europe, since such a low bar has been set.

The recent trade war expose all the hypocrisy on the west.

Esp when they start accusing China of not selling them rare earth.

Damn funny . They forgot they started first by not selling China their chips.

Now it's a race to see if the west can produce their own rare earth first. Or China can produce their own chips faster.

😅

China has rare earth and refining technology, they can choose to sell to who they like.

The hypocrisy? Well, it seems US is demanding to be a customer.  Kpkb about China controlling global supply chain while they used the same for EUV machines.  Not funny mah? Lol

They are so used to speaking softly, carrying a big stick and getting what they want, now they speak very loudly with a feather duster and China bo hew them.

Well, glad someone is standing up to them, otherwise under Trump, he will leave nothing on the table for everyone else.

He calls China an enemy

Then all the right not to sell processed rare earths to “one whom treats u as an enemy”

the contradiction is all politics

peoples of both countries and it periphery would love to just lead a happy prosperous life

We understand people’s intention from their actions, not their words, especially when it doubles as poop chute

Anyway, when I realised he spews lies and half truths, I can’t be bothered, except to correct them where necessary

Trade wars don't have winners only losers.

But some people will say China is the big winner.

Ok lah if it makes them happy happy.

US and the system it lead and created was and still is objectively and historically the best thing that ever happened for Chinese people. Especially for the CCP too. But I think "Chinese" and "CCP" are .. often purposely?..  mixed together,  even by some PRCs.

The fact that most CCP elites send their children to the US says alot about reality.

冰结三尺非一夜之寒。。while  some issues were always there, its the wolf warrior policy since XI came that's mainly responsible for current state, because it applies not just to China/US, but China to EU, Asean, JP, SK etc.

You are watching the unfolding of history with coloured lens, one that harks back to the famine from the Great Leap Forward, the social upheaval and anti-confucian Cultural Revolution, and the corrupt PLA and a crony system stemming from human nature, amplified by confucian culture, that reeks all the way to the top of the food chain.

However, there are changes in the positive direction in the recent decade, not directly attributed to Xi, but a cumulative progress, however minor from work of his predecessors.

Looking at a heavily indebted US, blackmailing the world, and openly asking for bribes in return for lower tariffs, if China is another India or Russia, then Singapore's position in the world becomes precarious.

Just look at Panama, Venezuela and of course, Cuba.

These satellite countries have no choice, but have their presidents abducted to and indicted in US and their government and sovereignty trampled without a second thought, citizens shot like dogs in their own country by foreign operators and their younger generation brainwashed by warped values.

Of course, should China start being overtly aggressive without provocation, like what US is doing, then its time to band with others to resist them.

For now, it is ascendent, so much support is needed from anywhere, to some extent it may bend over backwards to achieve a win-win.

Just look at Vietnam, getting Chinese firms to setup Vietnam's HSR after Japan's Kawasaki failed to fulfil the contract, which had impeded Vietnam's economic progress by almost a decade. This is in spite of the SCS disputes, and Chinese navy killed Vietnamese soldiers in Paracel Islands, as recent as 1988

Yes, the hypocrisy and contradictions are glaring.  Both them and their sponsor.

US is no longer a benign power, that is clear to most people except a few here who like to politicize everything.

Yea yea... XJP's unending term limit is the cause of ugly chinese behaviour...

His daughter also studied in US, and he is 崇阳媚外 turncoat under his skin.

I also I find many chinese noveau riche behave in uncouth ways, that is jarring to my perception of civic behaviour

In fact, the WP holders seem much better and humble people.

So Chinese should remain poor and in servitude so they continue to be nice and humble people.

Crazy so many people want to speak up for the unpleasant chinese.

Germany's foreign minister said in her FM capacity, that China and Chinese should not exist on the same planet as her values differ from the CCP dictatorship

Rare earth can be produced elsewhere, but much more polluting and expensive.

China will eventually produce good enough chips. So far with all the restrictions factories in China continue to operate, not like the west kpkb no rare earth magnets going to stop in 2 months.

Rare earth are everywhere. The problem is processing those rare earth.

It use to be a dirty job that no 1 wanted to do. So all the processing went to China where its cheaper and easier to get the permit.

But as days go by. China become super good at it. They invented new machine and method of processing rare earth and get all that patent.

Which is why 90% of the rare earth is processed in china. ( other country that have rare earth dig and ship them to China for processing).

Other countries still can break China strong hold. But at a super high cost. For example. The recent hoohaa about Japan rare earth is 6-7 km under ground. For Japan to dig those out and process in Japan . The same product could cost 10x more then what China can produce.

And like how Holland control the best chip making machine. China control the best rare earth processing machine.

Talk about Dutch. They really very funny. Shoot themself and EU In the foot.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/oct/23/volvo-vw-carmakers-dutch-takeover-chinese-chipmaker-nexperia-japanese

Battle between Netherlands and China over chipmaker could disrupt car factories, companies say

Volvo, VW and Nissan among companies that could face supply problems due to Dutch takeover of Nexperia

That decision caused an immediate rift with Beijing, which banned all exports from the chipmaker, escalating the already tense relations between China and the US before a potential meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping next week in Korea.

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, whose members include Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Mazda, said on Thursday it had received a warning from Nexperia that chips could now be in short supply, potentially holding up manufacturing.
