Contipro 5th Gear July 10, 2019 Share July 10, 2019 @contipro bro wat is GB? So as long as we dun tune or do modification its ok n the car will las 10 years n no engine failure? GB = gearbox its Jatco CVT, understand reliability is so-so based feedback here of other vehicle brand. So far those use in outlander 2.0 or 2.4, we dont hear much issue concerning this CVT, hence reliability should be quite okay. here mentioned about gearbox, not related to engine failure. whether can last 10 years or not, this depend on maintenance schedule, driving style and etc... no comment. ↡ Advertisement
Columbian78 6th Gear July 10, 2019 Share July 10, 2019 Using jatco cvt? Check if your car has stock cvt cooler. This is the main diff on reliability. I am driving sylphy turbo. Not sure if my jatco is same as ec. The ones built by thailand has cvt cooler stock and sold here asia pac region are ok. The ones built in us without cvt cooler has frequent early failures within few 10s of thousands km.

I dont think workshop in Singapore are skillful enough for such conversation being lack of skill mechanics. if they say can, 100% chop no guarantee/warranty on the CVT conversation, as mechanics here very kiasi... (why? because no skill)..

gamekidz Clutched July 18, 2019 Share July 18, 2019 (edited) Hi, anyone experience "like metal vibrating" sound coming from back of car when travelling on uneven road? Has tried remove all stuff under the boot, secure the boot shade and even the back seat buckle but the sound stil persist. Any advice? Now you mentioned, I might have heard it when negotiating uneven or bumpy roads. Have you resolved this? Any outcome? Vinceng Turbocharged July 18, 2019 Share July 18, 2019 Have you tightened the screw securing your spare tyre in the boot?
Jus4fun 1st Gear July 18, 2019 Share July 18, 2019 (edited) Some said the rattling from the rear may b coming from the spoiler.. For me, there's sm faint plastic rattling when running over rough roads, that seems to come frm the lower part of the right door panels. I suspect it's frm the black skirting/fender below the door panel? Hopefully not some loose cables inside the door panel though; I changed my front speakers and did sound proofing.. blimeysg Neutral Newbie July 27, 2019 Share July 27, 2019 Hi, I am looking for an SUV to replace my current one. My current one is a guzzler but thats most probably i didnt do much research when i bought it 3 years ago. A 1.2T engine cannot support a heavy car especially i am doing 80% city driving. No prizes for guessing which car i am driving now. Believe me, i am doing about 8km/L :( Need experts' help here. Will a 1.5L like the EC help my fuel consumption in view of my driving pattern considering the 80% city driving? I am definitely not heavy footed. Will the EC serve my need? Heavy city driving will cause average fuel consumption for most cars. Typically around 11km/l at best. Perhaps u can consider a hybrid or diesel car which give best fc for heavy city driving
cody7k 1st Gear August 1, 2019 Share August 1, 2019 Heavy city driving will cause average fuel consumption for most cars. Typically around 11km/l at best. Perhaps u can consider a hybrid or diesel car which give best fc for heavy city driving Yes the fuel consumption is nothing to shout about. You will get close to 600km if your are more heavy footed without the ECO mode on. But with the eco mode on (making the car very sluggish) you should get about 20-30km more. That is from a full tank till the fuel indication goes down to nothing. European cars like Renault, Opel have diesel engines that goes almost double the range on cheaper fuel but the brand reliability might be an concern as the car age. If not hybird the way to go but do note after certain mileage there is a major hassle and cost to change the battery.

Try that firs Can I confirm with bro/sis here what grade of petrol does Eclipse use since it was a turbo charge,
