Not even sure why these people want to ride on the road at all. I always feel drafting is sort of cheating so nowadays I will purposely ride away from those groups as do no t want to accused of taking advantage. I like compliments only when is due to my efforts, and not through these means. But it is not possible as sometimes the pace of the group is similar to mine, so either I need to push harder which might risk me loosing stamina and malu if later they overtake me, or me slowing down just to be away from them. Anyway my point is that there is no glory in going fast with such help at all.

I also cannot tahan the buzzing wheel hub rotating sound when following a group as will be damn noisy when a few riders stop riding just gliding along, sometimes when almost the whole group do that. This is like when I used to run, I do not like some who run with stomping strides. I hate the pon pon sound near me as it will affect my pace.

You can always be the train head in front.

The proper group riding etiquette is to rotate train head at an interval.

Everyone has an opportunity to be train head including charbor.

In addition, it is best to ride with ppl with similar stamina.

However, ride with slight faster group will improve stamina.

The saving could be 5w over output of 300w.

again... so? tailgating a heavy vehicle on a public road is worth it?

take MRT even more power saving.

Understand how it works. I have seen charbors riding very fast too going > 35km/hr. But I personally feel that riding solo can really build up your stamina and strength as it is very raw kind of situation. On occasions that I rode with groups by coincidence, can really feel needing much less efforts to cruise at that speed. No right or wrong, I just prefer riding solo as I could train harder at my pace. And also no need to deal with the complex issues of riding with groups such as timing which I do not have much choices.

But I am putting the days of pounding TMCR on hold for these few weeks as got Covid finally 2 days ago. And I went for a gruelling ride that morning without feeling any significant difference. Hope my recovery to hard cycling is not so tough as some had shared.

I had been riding solo through COVID. There is not much improvement.

I have moved from Group with average speed of 28km/h to 30km/h for RTI.

The week I recovered from COVID. Rode solo with average speed of 26km/h. No issue.

Did Group ride with average speed of 30km/h. Rode 15km only. After that literally crawl home.

The dumb f*** thing these cyclist do to get some statistics over their safety is mind blowing.

They might as well volunteer themselves for vehicle crash test so that don't need to use crash dummies.

Curious if in pelaton for 60km, what would be the norm for breaks? How many and for how long? If continuous for 60km, even 30km/hr is challenging.

For 60km, zero break.

For 120km, 1 break. This break around 15mins.

For 7am ride, we will finish around 9:30am for 60km ride.
